how is it possible they keep dropping the ball on this kind of stuff? I mean a guy orders three monitors and all three arrive broken? The first thought in my mind is they are trying to offload all the crap panels they have been getting as returns the past few months and seem to just not give a damn about the people spending 1/2 a grand on this stuff.

The conspiracy theorist in me says they are packing them horribly so they break then they can submit damage claims for them. I keep coming back to this thread looking for a change in the state of their packing - the consistency of the poor packaging is definitely suspicious.
Are you able to share these pictures with the CS reps? It basically looks like the company refurbishing these monitors don't have customized packaging on hand. They're just using generic Styrofoam and cardboard boxes.-------->Three Monitor Guy <------- incoming 4th in the making :S
Here is the picture of the packing of the 2nd monitor that arrived with a broken screen.
The front of the panel was literally leaning/making contact against the inner of the cardboard shipping box when I opened it, not making this crap up at all...

The 4th XB271HU came in last week, this time in a bigger box and more robust packing. To my misfortune the Panel has a massive back light bleed on bottom left corner and a cornea scorching IPS glow... gawd!!!
Well that monitor is going back to Acer and I'm officially throwing the towel in the whole IPS G-sync monitor fad and going back to TN panels. IPS Glow is like having a Delicious crap and shrimp sandwich, I love Shrimp but Shit in my food is a no no! I previously owned an Acer XB280 TN 4K G-sync panel so viewing angles and color shift is not an issue for me. Peace out!
IPS glow is pretty normal. Backlight bleed is not. IPS glow shows up or disappears depending on the angle you are looking at the screen at. To see if it's truly backlight bleed, you have to back up, away from the monitor. FYI, you can fix backlight bleed. I did so with my Qnix. I would detail how, but I have written about it before in the Qnix thread and it's plainly obvious no one is really going to bother despite how simple the operation is, and you've probably already returned it anyhow.
As far as these go, I would just buy a new one. This doesn't seem worth the hassle to me. But I'm satisfied with my RoG Swift anyhow. I don't need IPS for a gaming monitor. Next gaming monitor I'll get will be OLED, if it will ever actually exist...
im so tempted to order the xb1 but with everyones issues im not sure it's even worth it
The price difference along with none being for sale in the prior two weeks rattled me into buying one now too. I was trying to wait until it lined up with a 8/10% ebay bucks day again. You have to wonder why such a huge price difference on the x34. It was 999 on ebay yesterday, and then 729 again today, been F5ing their ebay page for two weeks now, finally scored one for 729. so now we'll see how i fare in the panel/shipping damage lotteries. It seems the stars have to align perfectly to get a good one at this price, fingers crossed.
Your late it was up a few hours then finally sold. They only had one.OMG I wouldve bought that z35 asap
X34 is Gsync XR341CK is Freesync. All Acer Predator x34 are either gsync or freesync, right? There's no 'lesser' version with neither?
You got me after having a 21:9 monitor I have no want to go back to a 27" I just can't stand the 2560x1080 res in a 29".Is it really worth $50 to get an XB1 over XB270HU bprz?
