I have a white Xbox 360 with RROD and a XBox 360 slim that had maybe 10 hours on it that's dead (won't post).

Contemplating getting a new XBone since I have so many games for the 360 but want to off load these guys first if possible.

The Slim unit doesn't post. It powers up and about 3 seconds later it flashes red in the power button and dies. Flashes about 10 times or so. I took it to a reputable repair place and he hit a couple of buttons and made it flash all crazy and said it was toast from the start. If I had actually played it, it would have died sooner and would've been under warranty.

Anyway, I see eBay is overloaded with dead xbox 360s and was wondering if it was even worth posting up there for the $20 price tags, or just tossing them to good will for the write off and calling it a day?

Thanks.

Best bet is to just turn them into a local electronic recycler. Anyone that accepts computer components or circuit boards should take it.

What good is done giving dead 360's to Goodwill?

Don't give broken shit to Goodwill. That often fucks over a lot of the people who shop there because they can't afford normal retail items.

I have a GoodWill Electronics center close by. Last time I looked at their process and procedures they actually functional test electronics, if they are bad, they sell them to an electronics recycling firm and get money for the contribution.

All good. I'm mostly seeing if anyone has actually sold broken consoles online and was it worth the time and effort. $20 isn't a lot, but it would help easy the pain of paying full price for a new unit too.

I do plan to part out what is still good, like my controllers and the kinect for it.
