the catch is if you have never used it before, between now and the end of the month, set it up and use it (only works with a limited number of samsung phones btw) and the first time you pay with samsung pay you will get a 30 dollar gift card to either Best Buy, Ebay, Nike, Whole foods or Regal Cinemas...(you will get a pop up on your phone with a choice of gift cards).

Gah I got suckered into the wireless charger early, should've held out.

Everywhere does - cool thing about samsung pay - if the place has a reader (even the older swipes) it works - I took moms out to Bob Evans yesterday and used it - you would have thought I was Merlin..The cashier said "how did you do that?" it was just like the commercial. Just swipe up, fingerprint and hold it next to the card reader...done.

It creates a magnetic field with the CC information that the card reader can understand.

I put a card on samsung pay to get the free charger last week. Well over the weekend in my rush i forgot my wallet and was in the grocery store. Realized at checkout I forgot my wallet, samsung pay to the rescue! It was an old school card swipe machine, but holy hell it worked and people thought I was magical!

Android Pay is competing with Samsung Pay. Why would Samsung want to give you $30 for signing up with their competition?

I didnt realize Android Pay was their competition (never used it).

I would expect them to write "Samsung Pay" to work on all the latest galaxys that support NFC transactions, dude above says it doesnt even work on the S6. Recent galaxys are fully capable of doing NFC transactions not sure why they wrote "Samsung Pay" to only use hardware in a phone that just came out.

You'd think they would want more people using their service. Lots of people dont upgrade every year now that companies like tmobile dont subsidize the phone.

Samsung pay works on all the S6 variants, Note 5 variants, and S7 variants.

It's a bit picky about which credit card you want to use because not all banks are on board with it yet.

Would anyone who has gotten the Samsung wireless charger want to trade it for a new Mushkin 120gb msata ssd? Thought I would throw out there.

I think samsung pay only works with samsung phones with fingerprint reader?? Not sure. I know I was able to set up the citi att access more card I got to get the free s7 edge :) then used it to pay to get the free 30 dollar gift card.

Honestly I have had more luck with apple pay.
And I hate to admit that. My GS5 was hardly ever used for transactions.
I am in Virginia at the moment.

OK this marketing tactic has worked, I picked up two S7's (BOGO) and am now getting $60 for FREE!

My bank supports it but, like I said, not available on the GS5. shame on you Samsung.

Not supported on GS5 because they didn't add the MST hardware necessary for Samsung Pay until the GS6 series.

funny part is I have Citi Amex cards and they are not supported - yet it says both citi and amex are supported ...oh well my Citi Access card works :D

I actually like Samsung Pay. It actually saved my butt once when I forgot my wallet at home, and the USPS didn't take NFC payments.

That said, $30 is a pretty low promo for using it. When I signed up they were doing a $100 gift card for their store, and a few weeks later it was $200 iirc. Not trying to tell anyone not to take $30 for free, but I thought people would want to know they often run better promos if you're willing to chance it and wait.

Android Pay existed via "Google Wallet" long before Samsung Pay and Apple Pay existed. Google Wallet supported NFC payments years ago and works on any phone that has NFC.

The guy above was saying the deal is no good on the S6. Samsung Pay works fine, but the offer only applies to Galaxy s7 and s7 edge devices which is silly if you ask me (OP should change title / original post). The wireless charger puck deal has also been cancelled.

Lastly, the reason T-Mobile doesn't subsidize phone costs is because their plans are cheaper. Pay more for a plan, get a subsidized phone. T-Mobile does this in the form of payment plans, so you can add $20/mo to your bill and pay for the phone that way. Companies like AT&T are already doing this without telling you, except they charge you the $20/mo extra regardless of if you buy a new phone or not.

I don't have any subsidy, I have 3 lines for 130 bucks 25 gb of data unlimted text and talk...and one of the lines is my LTE hotspot car. It is a BYOD plan, I can go on their next plan to get a new phone or buy it out right like I did with the access card...which will credit me 650 so I paid 150 for a new s7 edge.

This Samsung pay is pretty neat. Got the free wireless charger by signing up, then scored $30 for buying oil with a card that has a 10% cashback offer at autozone.

Worked on a mag swipe only reader.

I'm sold on the technology.
