Budget is ~$550 for cpu, 16GB ram, and mobo.
Unless I can get into X99 with this budget, I'm going with Skylake. NIB parts only unless from a trusted member here.
Gaming, media consumption, and writing ladder logic is pretty much it.
Will be OCing. If Skylake, shooting for 4.5 - 4.8GHz.
I play games top to bottom. New AAA titles back to Rise Of Nations and Diablo II.
Everything else in sig being reused.

I had thought about the 6600k and the Sabertooth Mk1 or the Maximus VIII Hero. I like the quantity of fan headers. I don't need lots of features, I never use them. I would like a dedicated pump header, solid VRM/cooling for long term stable OC, and a bounty of fan headers.
16GB of RAM. 2666 or 3000?

I found the 6600k, the M8H, and 16GB of Ripjaws V 3000MHz for $517 shipped after waiving "free" return shipping and the 15% off new customer code @ Jet. Jump on it? Better deals to be had?

I looked up on amazon and found i5x6600k, gigabyte mobo combo for 370 and 16gb ddr4x2133 ram for 85 so you should be fine

the asus ddr4x3400 lga 1151 z170 pro gaming mobo is 195 at amazon. or bundled with your 6600, for 399
then buy you ram.for under 100.

with purchases over 40 even if you don't have prime you get free shipping.

Remainder of parts ordered from Jet!

6600K - 222.31
Asus Rampage VIII Hero - 212.87
G. Skill Ripjaws 4 2x8GB 3000MHz CL15 - 85.81
Total: $520.99

Got 15% off for using the Android app (ANDROID15), plus ~$15 by waiving the included return shipping label.

I think that's a damn good deal!

The 6600K is coming from "Mega Retail Store", and the other two items are coming from "Jet Trusted Retail Partner"
