Budget is ~$550 for cpu, 16GB ram, and mobo.
Unless I can get into X99 with this budget, I'm going with Skylake. NIB parts only unless from a trusted member here.
Gaming, media consumption, and writing ladder logic is pretty much it.
Will be OCing. If Skylake, shooting for 4.5 - 4.8GHz.
I play games top to bottom. New AAA titles back to Rise Of Nations and Diablo II.
Everything else in sig being reused.
I had thought about the 6600k and the Sabertooth Mk1 or the Maximus VIII Hero. I like the quantity of fan headers. I don't need lots of features, I never use them. I would like a dedicated pump header, solid VRM/cooling for long term stable OC, and a bounty of fan headers.
16GB of RAM. 2666 or 3000?
I found the 6600k, the M8H, and 16GB of Ripjaws V 3000MHz for $517 shipped after waiving "free" return shipping and the 15% off new customer code @ Jet. Jump on it? Better deals to be had?
