What are you nerds playing this weekend?

I have to finish up SOMA this weekend. Got a little off track over the last week with other things. I'll also continue playing Twilight Princess HD.

EVO: The Search for Eden for snes, my copy came in the mail a few days ago. Yes I know I have way too much disposable income gonna post a thread about it in a couple days for anyone not familiar with this particular rarity.

Soma is great. I played it on the PS4 and never finished a game so fast. I was hooked after the first 30 mins.

I'm still currently obsessed with The Witcher 3 on PC.... not only an amazing story but truly breathtaking at 3840x2160 on a 40" display...

Yeah, my daughter and I are playing it, and are totally hooked. I would have finished it faster, but I've got a few projects I'm working on right now, sucking all my time. We'll be back to it this weekend though, and probably wrap it up. We're most of the way through Theta. Just crawled through the ducts. Having a blast with it.

MGSV The Phantom Pain. Another extremely over rated game. Short on story, horrid mechanics and cut & paste design. You'll finish the game two times over and still not have the requirements to develop any of the fun gadgets or weapons. No new game + either, so after you've played it through 3-4 times and you might have some interesting gear you can't fully replay the game anyways. It plays like an MMO in a lot of respects. A lot of character is just missing from the game, and instead you're given copy/paste scenarios that all play the same. Remember in Splinter Cell Chaos Theory you could interrogate enemies? They would have unique conversations pertaining to the map/mission. In MGSV there are only 2 options throughout the entire game; tell me where the enemy/prisoner or item is. Then it gets marked on your map. They don't offer actual dialogue explaining where you can find something. And the NPCs themselves just stand around; rarely found sleeping or talking. In SC CT they would watch TV, be torturing someone and whatnot. They seemed alive. In this game they just seem like lifeless bots.

The plot has many holes and fails miserably to pull your emotional strings in an attempt to add something to the game.
Child soldiers killing people and looting villages that shoot at you can't be harmed. Oh, and they turn into cry babies grieving after toys in just days after you rescue them. Seems like they just wrote in a half assed stereotypical child soldier story because the plot was so thin. And then they went off on a random parasite that gives people super powers sub plot which never made much sense simply to justify why one of the main characters runs around half naked. So why bother perusing expensive walking tanks when you can create super human soldiers that teleport? Especially seeing that those mechs go down so easily.

And a good part of your game is spent holding down a button to collect plants, containers and managing a bunch of other boring stuff in a horribly design menu. Its like an Ubisoft game but worse because you'll never get to use the fun stuff before the game is over. I did watch the cut ending of the game, what was posted to youtube anyways, and it just makes me think this game was rushed. It shows everywhere. I suppose an extra year in development would have helped a lot.

Dues Ex HR blows this out of the water. I hope Mankind Divided doesn't attempt the open world MMO approach and plays like HR.

Finished Dragon's Dogma. Had a great time with it from beginning to end. Combat and exploring were done so well. Dungeons were exciting. The open world was massive, littered with imaginative destinations. It is a good looking game too, even on PS3. This Japanese take on a western style action RPG is right up there with the best of them.

Of all things, Game of Thrones by Telltale Games.

Guess I'm just hyping myself up for the new season....

Ended up playing Grim Dawn for the entire weekend.

Wanted to pick up on Fallout 4 again, but I made my decision to wait until GECK (and hence unofficial patch) before I do so, speaking of which, what took them so bloody long?

Was planning on getting back into Dark Souls 2 some more but ended up spending most of the weekend playing Destiny. I starting to bring back memories of my days grinding for loot in D2.

Well, just beat Drill Dozer... fun/challanging little GBA game... now my hands are cramped :/

Finally started playing Ocarina of Time for the 3DS, never beat the game on N64 (made it up to the Water Temple then gave up), so it's long overdue for me to complete it.

Really impressed by the graphical overhaul, it doesn't look like a N64 game anymore.

Nice! The 3DS version is better in just about every way too. Hopefully you'll enjoy it more this time around. It took me three times to actually get into it properly and finish it. Once I did it once, I've been back to it several more times over the years. I think I like Twilight Princess and Wind Waker a little bit more, but I still really love OoT.

I kind of just dropped everything the other day and started playing Link Between Worlds for the first time. Haven't put my 3DS down except to eat, go to work, pick up my kids, then come home to continue playing again. :D Judging by past Zelda experiences, I'm guessing I'm about half to two thirds of the way through it now. Excellent game.

the weekend starts tonight for me. tonight will be The Division and a six pack of Irish Death (in a can! first time i've found it in a can).

I have both Friday and Monday off so it will be a nice long weekend filled with a mix of Dark Souls and Destiny.

It's Friday Bitches, what games are in your Easter Basket? Hippity Hoppity bitchezzzzz!!!!

I will maybe play some Witcher 3. I will just call it "Bitcher tre"

PAYDAY 2 was on sale so I'm gonna try it with a friend. Other than that, maybe some PoE but getting burned out pretty fast on PoE.

Just cause 3/The division and Rainbow 6 siege are on the docket for me this weekend. Going to put my new build to the test(6700k/980 gtx ti)

Just tried firing up Sacred 2 for the first time in YEARS.

Some games are better left in the past....

I'll stick with Titan Quest / Grim Dawn.

Now with Civilization 6 rumors growing decided to get most of Steam achievements in Civ V :)

Plowing through Elite difficulty on Grim Dawn now, playing Vitality Conjurer (Occultist + Shaman with Wendigo and Storm Totems with Sigil of Consumption, SoC hits like a truck).

Just re-killed Shanks.

A bit of an oddball weekend for me. Nearly finished SOMA finally with my daughter. I'm guessing we'll be done in another hour or so. I played more Link Between Worlds. (probably about 75% done with that now) And I never got around to playing Mass Effect 3, and picked up the "Special Edition" for the Wii U because it was $12. I actually have a PC copy sitting in Origin, but until Mirror's Edge Catalyst comes out, I haven't been compelled to install Origin. :D So I will play it on the Wii U instead for the first time. I actually started the PC version a while back, but just wasn't in the right mode for it, so I stopped until I was again. That time is now. It's also the first physical copy of ANYTHING that I've purchased in years, but couldn't pass it up for $12.
