I bought this TV before Superbowl for $1500+tax at best buy... Now it's $1200 shipped... Who said the best time to buy HDTV is before Superbowl... :bag:

Deal Link (Buydig @ eBay)

We love the TV, 4K upscaling is pretty good, the motion-smoothing tech also works, though most of time I turn it off. Very easy to use and cast stuff from youtube, have all the subscriptions we have (Amazon Instant TV/Netflex.)

Comes with USA warranty from Buydig.

Only thing I would recommend is a dedicated speaker/soundbar... The integrated speaker sucks.

4K content is awesome!

Considering this or waiting for the samsung js8500 to drop a bit more

The 810C isn't anywhere as good as the JS8500. I own the Sony 850C & like it very much. Still a great deal for a 65" panel.

Here's the deal. The 810C lacks some of the processing that the 850C has. That being said, the 850C and the JS8500 were what I was looking at last weekend. The 850C has the motion processing power to negate most of the motion blur, but lacks in contrast and color accuracy. That's just how Sony does it. The Samsung JS8500 focuses on image clarity, contrast and color depth with damn near OLED blacks, but lacks the processing to deal with motion blur.

I went with the JS8500.

Sony, LG and Samsung are all due to release their new model line up in the next month or so. This 810C is a good deal now, or you can wait and maybe find the 850C or JS8500 for maybe a tad more.

I agree with some of your insight. 1st...The JS8500 is a damn fine panel. It's VA & the blacks aren't anywhere near OLED. My 850C is a VA panel as well & the blacks are better then the JS8500 IMHO (subjective) The Samsung has more "pop" then the Sony's no question. Samsung up-scaling development has matured, but Sony is still own the crown.

I went back & forth between the 850C & the JS8500 in 55" class. My Pioneer 720P Kuro plasma bit the dust & I needed a replacement. I went with the Sony 850C because it's was more "plasma-like" It's not a super bright panel (which I prefer)

Also...the general consensus is that Sony QC is better then Samsung. This really means nothing as the new 2016 models coming out look super promising (see Panasonic DX900) We might not even see this in the USA as Panasonic left use high & dry the past 2 years. I wished I could had held-out for a few more months, but I couldn't do it.

@ $1200.00 810C is a excellent value for a 65" UHDTV.

Sony's just seem to have better flesh tones. I tend to focus on faces, so that becomes the most important picture concern. Samsung seems to have better color 'pop', but I generally stick with Sony because most shows are centered around the people. I have an 850C.

All in the eye of the end user. Every 850C I saw on display had bad bleeding in the lower corners. Blacks looked clouded. But fast motion picture clarity blew the Samsung out of the water. Either way, both are phenomenal TV's in their own right and one can't go wrong either way.

I think the 810C lacks 3D, if that's important. It was to me, since we actually use it. Still a bad ass TV for $1200.

Riccochet - have you enabled AMP (Auto Motion Plus) in the options menu? I don't use my JS9000 for television - only games and the occasional movie - but I found that AMP all but eliminates motion blur. Really happy with this set.

Yes, and it creates that "soap opera" effect while watching TV. To be honest, the motion blur isn't all that bad. Sure, it could be better, like the Sony, but it's not unbearable. I still have a little more tweaking to do.

Old_Way: I agree. I was never a Sony fan after selling my Sony 34" Direct View (tube) HDTV. For the model # Maybe something with like 800? When it came out @ the time (maybe 2003?) It was the standard for 1080i viewing. Loved it. But, then I moved over to the Pioneer Kuro & I was amazed. BTW....I sold my Pioneer for $175.00 "as is" Took about a day before someone was @ my door to give me the coin for it. I'm sure they repaired it.

When I looked @ the JS8500 & the 850C I was so torn. When Sony's prices dropped for the 850C 55" to $1199.98 from BB, I jumped on it.

This is a "stop-gap" measure until OLED drop in price. 2-3 years from now it will be a whole new ball-game. I'll kick-up the 850C to my bedroom @ that point. At the time the JS8500 was $500.00 more then the 850C. I couldn't justify the price difference. I'm happy where I'm @

How would you compare this to Vizio's 65inch M65-C3. N/M deal is dead. If you had 1300$ what you get. Needs to be 60inch and 4K and no curved displays

I have the 60 inch Vizio M3 and its actually pretty damn good. I paid 699 for it though. For 1200+ i'd maybe consider something else like I just bought a 65 for the living room. I just got the Samsung UN65JU750DFXZA 65" 4K Ultra HD 2160p 120Hz Curved 3D LED Smart HDTV (4K x 2K) for $1299.99 from Walmart. I never thought I'd buy a tv from walmart but the pricing is worth it to take a chance.

Couldn't pass that deal up. Its over 2k everywhere else and comparable to the 8500 series for that semi goes on sale for $1800. I paid 1500 shipped with 3 year extended warranty. I 'll see how I like it when it comes in next week.

Vengance: Look @ this Samsung 60" here:

Samsung - 60" Class (60" Diag.) - LED - 2160p - Smart - 4K Ultra HD TV - Black

It's a Best Buy exclusive. It uses a Sharp 10-bit panel. Wait a little longer & you can grab this for around $1100.00-$1200.00 It's loaded with features (including HDR) I had this in my home for a week & liked it a lot. I returned it because it was $300.00 more then my 55" Sony 850C. Couldn't justify the price difference. If I was going to keep it for 5+ years, then I would have kept it.

Vizio has come a long way. Not a real fan because the M series up-scaling isn't on par with Samsung or Sony. Let's face it....4K is still somewhat limited. So, a good upscale is a must. I don't know your source. I use DirecTV & my Sony 850C looks wonderful from 1080P to 4K.

The next 6-8 weeks is the time to buy last years (2015) models on the cheap.

Have the 4K TV's brought back Picture in Picture of Picture By Picture? I don't know why this feature went away once 1080p became mainstream.

My samsung will do multi-screen. I can have different inputs up on the screen at the same time. Like watching OTA broadcast while accessing the roku.

Its currently at 1899$. When do you think it will drop to 1100-1200$...

Did anyone notice these were listed as used/open box? Obviously its a little late but just curious if anyone got in on it and could comment on condition.

A couple of weeks back it was $1399.98 You'll have to check every week & see yourself. Sony's 2016 line-up is already @ BB. No word on Samsung yet. You should head over to the AVS forums. Wealth of knowledge there.

I have this TV except the 55" version. I absolutely love it. Granted I got mine for $750 :)
