I don't know about you but I really like this idea. At $5, it's cheaper than other cable labels and saves you the hassle of making your own. What do you guys think?

The stickers are too generic and simplistic. I have lots of external USB drives, battery chargers, etc., each one with its own (usually unique) power supply. I'd like to put the same label on both parts: the device (ie. "USB 4TB Drive #1", "USB 1TB Drive #2", "4AA Charger #1", etc.) and on the AC adapter ("USB 4TB Drive #1", "USB 1TB Drive #2", "4AA Charger #1", etc.) so I know which adapter goes with which device. Pictographs like those presented in the Kickstarter would not help. I will continue to laser print small labels on Avery sheets and cut them out by hand.

I like it. It's nice and clean.

I've seen some network racks that used the masking tape/marker method, and then nice labels. I'll take the nice labels any day. May cost more, but it's worth it. My desk, home theater rack, home lab... All are pretty bad. Tracing cables is a bitch sometimes. I like these.

Has this guy never heard of adhesive labels? I already print out labels for my cords, why do I need this product and why does it need a Kickstarter? COSTS FOR PRINTING STICKERS ARE VERY LOW.

This!

I have 5 computers under my desk all with back cords. I rarely unplug them.

What he needs is is a generic sticker that have fields so you can add a little number or letter. However, I have a label maker with a full keyboard.

These labels are for people who need a robot to guide them out of a burning building.

Hi everyone. It's the sticker guy here. Thanks for taking the time to check out my Kickstarter!

I agree that my stickers are probably not ideal for the more technical specialist applications some of you mentioned. I am however thinking of creating a stretch goal which is an alphanumeric sheet, which could be more useful.

This is unnecessary for me. I think I have some weird autism that allows me to memorize exactly which plug goes to which device, even between my work laptop and home laptop that are made by the same company.
I could see this as helpful for my parents.

Good luck with your Kickstarter though dude.

I use a Brother P-Touch labeler for all my wall warts. Also in the US our power plugs aren't that flat wide flat style thus there's little flat surface to apply a label. I do like the universal variety of icons idea, the label printing companies should put more things like that in their built-in font sets.

+1 for a label maker. I have all my plugs labeled with the make/model of what the plug is for.

HPM made boards like that when I was a kid.. You would clip the label or icon above each switched outlet.

I use one of these:

Why not just buy the sticker sheets from an office supply depot and create your own?

I like this idea, I label tons of stuff but if I can apply a picture it would be way easier to notice in a dimly lit area than trying to read some faded/dusty tape.

Because i bet none of the kiddies have heard of avery labels. It's a thing of the past. Why buy printable, adhesive stickers that conform to a standard and instead waste more money?

You'll find most on this forum don't understand target markets or market segments and thus if something doesn't fit in their POU it is useless and should never be made or sold. Good luck with your project.

Yeah neat idea but I mean... people already do this. You can just get a template and have any of the thousands of vinyl decal companies print them for you and cut them out... easier and you can customize what you want.

Kudos to him but I think it'll be a tough sell.

They don't even have to conform to a standard. The whole sheet itself is a giant sticker and you can use whatever image you want and print it out on the sheet. You could even take a picture of each device and print them on the sheet so you know exactly the device you put the sticker on.

Or you could just follow the cord :p

This really seems like a solution in search of a problem.

In most cases it's easy to see which cord.goes to which plug by either following it, or looking at the size/shape/color of the wire.

When this isn't easy, you could always use a sharpie a labelmaker or something else, and even when this is the case, most will just plug their shit in, and deal with it later.

I can see the "As Seen on TV" ad now, with the before state showing an unrealistically climay user and an overexhaggerated rats nest of wires...

These are not for the type of person who also lets their SSD drive simply dangle from the power/data cables or those who ghetto attach them with velcro. :ROFLMAO:
