HOT FIRE! Acer Predator x34 (GSYNC) - Refurbished - $729.99 SHIPPED

Not much difference between 90 and 100 Hz honestly. If there's no light bleed or dead pixels, keep it.

Yeah, at that price and considering others' results I would keep it even with some BLB and feel pretty good.

I just shot them an email asking for an ETA, I placed my order on Tuesday and as of this morning it was still listed as processing. About 5 min after me emailing them I got the tracking #, looks like they sent it out yesterday, should be receiving it Wednesday. Looking forward to some shitty packaging, ugh.

isn't this a relatively new monitor and they already have a bunch of refurbs for sale? What's up with that?

I ordered tuesday as well and now shows shipped this morning. No tracking number though on their webpage that I am seeing.

**Tracking number was emailed, it was in my gmail spam folder. Tuesday I should be receiving it according to fedex.

Thanks for sharing that unboxing video. That is the worst packaging I've seen in quite some time--and absolutely the worst I've ever seen on an item at that price point. I was debating calling Acer to see if they could cancel my order. Just about the time I had decided I would call them I got an email saying mine had shipped. Now I'm not sure if I should refuse the package or just cross my fingers and hope for the best. :/

So the signature from Acer for my tracking # via email included a link

We Have Extended Warranties! Check them out!
Protect Options

$159 for only a 2 year warranty, seems a bit steep, but we do have an option if squaretrade can't do it

Mine is showing as shipped as of this morning, too. I'm just gonna roll with it and see what happens.

well i was expecting something wrong with it .....just not this spawn19601

After you get your replacement 34", maybe you will shoot in horizontal mode instead of portrait mode, as this is what it looks like on a 34" ultrawide. lol.
Sucks that you got a dud though.

I just spoke to Asia their manager for customer service and I am sending them this thread bc I voiced my concerns about the packing. She said she will escalate this to her manager ASAP.

I also emailed them this morning telling them about this thread and how people are receiving broken screens due to poor packaging.

Got email back , looks like they are going the refund route.
I'll try and remember to record stuff in landscape next time .

Sorry to hear of these packaging/shipping mishaps. I will say mine was packaged the exact same way-- loose cords & everything.

Here's a small update Since I've had the monitor.

Still haven't had time to test it extensively in many games. I'll report back with that update a bit later down the road.

Noticed faint scanlines (you have to put your nose up against the screen) when on desktop. First noticed them when I had an Excel spreadsheet open with charts with differing colors. This is with the 100 Hz OC & G-sync switched on.

There are absolutely no scanlines on the desktop if you turn off the overclock but leave G-Sync on.

Build Date: August 2015

They paying return shipping I hope?
Here's exact wording :
Our deepest apologies for the inconvenience.

We have submitted this for approval, within 24 business hours you will receive a label to return the unit for a full refund.

Well, the stars, planets, and mammals must have all aligned. I received mine today and I don't think I could have gotten a better one (pounds wood). Granted the shipping package did leave something to be desired, however, it was packed in form fitting styrofoam and all of the chords/accessories were in their proper respective places. I do not have any scan lines that I can see, no coil whine, no glow or BLB (or at least no worse than my PB278Q), it overclocks to 100Hz with no problems and I nearly flooter-gooed in my pants after turning on g-sync and briefly playing through a couple of games. I am also quite surprised at how well my 980ti does.

I hope the rest of you guys either get good units or get good replacements (sorry that one guy that got a cracked one :/ ).

Okay, so after thinking about it I decided to just get a new one. There is a Micro Center about 2.5 hours from me. Their website said they had 0 in stock, but called and they told me they received 2 today and they were still in the back. So I drove there and just got home a little bit ago. Also until Mar. 6th you can purchase any CPU and get 20% off an Acer monitor (someone else mentioned this earlier in this thread I think, or maybe it was another thread). So I bought a nice used P4 cpu for $1.99 and purchased a new X34 for $1039.20. I have not opened the box yet but I will in a few minutes.. I hope its a good one!

I am receiving this refurb one still, Tuesday it's expected to be delivered. I am just going to return it. I figured for 360 dollars more (tax) I could get a brand new in retail packaging with 3 year warranty. So if the one I get next week is a good one someone can buy it off me for the 730 plus whatever it will be to ship it to you if interested. Else it is going back. I will get some photos of the new I picked up tonight once it's opened and mounted on my Ultimate Lazy Boy setup I have :p I am replacing the Samsung 28" 4k screen I have there now.

Ohh I almost forgot.. I get to practice delidding on the P4, because I am going to attempt to delid my 6700k next week once the Coollaboratory Liquid Pro Thermal Compound shows up! :)

Nope no issues other than a little blb in the upper left.. but I do not even notice it unless its a totally black screen. I hear no whine does 100hz just fine.. and saw zero banding in gsync pendulum demo. So overall I am very happy with it!

Thats exactly what I did last year, I bought it in combination with a 5930k which they were selling for 399.99 at the time and sold the 5930k on here and ended up getting the monitor for 20%!

I wouldn't buy this strictly on the basis that it only comes with a 3 month warranty but is still a great deal nonetheless

I just bought a car, so I can't even think of buying this, but if the 90 day warranty scares you, there's always SquareTrade. vOv

I don't mean to sound rude but perhaps you should read the thread before replying...square trade won't cover this monitor due to it being refurbished.

Hate to sound rude *back*, but a simple search for "squaretrade refurbished" on Google brings up a ton of evidence that yes, Virginia, SquareTrade *does* offer protection plans for refurbished items:

Square Trade 2Yr Ext Warranty for Refurbished Laptops with 90Day OEM Warranty ($0 - $299.99) (not explicitly a plan for a monitor, but seeing as it's got a SquareTrade logo and is being offered by Toshiba directly, it seems to me they'll warranty anything so long as you pay them)

EDIT: And yes, I read the posts where people got both 'yes' and 'no' as a response. Someone whose call is being recorded is probably going to err on the side of not saying something that they might have to defend later.

The only downside to this is that you would have to buy a warranty plan for the full MSRP of the X34, since $799 would not replace it with a new one. And *that* might be against SquareTrade's policy, since you'd be making ~$500 off of them (and have an incentive to break your refurb to wrangle a new one out of them 90+ days from now) - and they're probably going to want a copy of the invoice.

And directly from SquareTrade's 'terms and conditions':

"A Waiting Period applies to Protection Plans purchased for refurbished items and Protection Plans purchased subsequent to the purchase of Your Covered Product. Any applicable Waiting Period does not affect Your coverage under any manufacturer’s warranty. If during the Waiting Period a pre-existing condition renders the item ineligible for coverage We will cancel Your Protection Plan and provide You with a full refund of the Protection Plan Price."

Good job on that microcenter discount!

So what your saying is you don't know if square trade covers this monitor. I purchased one but had it cancelled. I also called talked to a couple very nice reps who both stated no, they would not cover the monitor. Seeing as how mine was cancelled I no longer have a bone in the fight.

But the onus is on you when you start telling people that yes square trade will cover it.

Update , was emailed a fedex shipping lable , don't know if it's prepaid but will know later on.

I went with the microcenter deal on a new one , no guessing if it will be covered by so and so. And I got lucky , so far nothing wrong .
Opened it in store just incase , they more than helpful getting that done.

Good luck to everyone getting one of these , hope you get a good one !

Been contemplating a trip to the Denver MC to pick one up but still debating on getting the Dell or this one and moving my crossover to the family pc. These are sure sexy though...

Cost more than the Dell , but even if it only can hit 90Hz , still better than 60 if your gaming on it .
Coming from 24" light boosted asus then Swift , I can see very little ghosting during fast game play .

I am EXTREMELY disappointed right now. I was sent a XR341CK instead of a X34. There are clear differences between these models such as the logo in the front, model / serial number, the XR341CK is Freesync / 75hz, the X34 is G-Sync 100hz so I am not even sure how this mix up could of happened.. I just emailed them asking for a return label. I really had my hopes up on getting a X34 and now I have to wait for another one to pop up.
