Show your CRT(s) setups!

@Killahurtz: That's a sexy setup, it's nice and clean and super cable managed.

What's the specs on that machine? What do you play?

thanks and...

Abit VP6 , 2 x PIII 1ghz @1140mhz , Voodoo 5500 AGP , dual boot W2K pro / XP pro , 2 gig Infineon memory , LSI controller + 3 x 18g scsi raid 0 , WD 500g , Kenwood TrueX 72x (the fastest CDR ever made) , Killer Nic net card , my good ol' Sony 21" E540 Trinitron @ 120Hz

Grand Prix legends , Unreal and Unreal Tournament , Quake 2 & 3, Serious Sam , Mig Alley , Leadfoot: Stadium Off Road Racing , and others are loaded...Glide on Trinitron at 120hz had a look and feel of its own in it's heyday.

Looks like you got some scaling enabled. :)

Edit - You're right - she looks really good!

I'm running it at 19X12 @ 85 Hz.
I love it....tried a few different LCD's and never found one I was happy with.
There very well may be one that is comparable, but I'm not willing to gamble any more money when I have everything I need for a flawless gaming experience right here.

I wish everyone would read this post. Exactly my (and many others on the FW900 thread) sentiments. Except my favorite is the GDM-F520 and the Artisan. What can I say? I'm still a sucker for 4:3. :D

I like the option to use 2048x1280. Steam and so many websites are 1024 in width and they never quite fit side-by-side on a 1920 monitor.
It's also nice to have a middle of the road resolution that is crisper than 1200p, runs at 90hz and resolves better than 2304x1440.

Here's my rear-projection television. I've redone convergence, cleaned the surface lenses, cleaned the mirror, cleaned the deep lenses, and refocused everything. I've even done some grayscale, but will have to redo it because I've focused the blue tube in more than it was in the past. The final mods I need to do are the "shimming" mod - where you move the CRT assembly closer to the mirror. This will reduce overscan naturally... But it will throw everything off in regards to focus, geometry, and convergence. So all of that will have to be redone. Anyways... But even now - it looks fantastic.

EDIT! And how can I forget? Yes that's a bias light. We attached a bias light to the back of the TV.

EDIT #2 - And here's the bias light...

On the Fw900 the proper geometry for 16:10 does not stretch the window all the way to the top and bottom edges like that. There should be about a quarter inch or so top and bottom of black screen, hence why your circles are ovals. I want to reach in and fix it damn it! The torture! :p

I'm most impressed with your mentioning the Killer NIC card. I've used such cards, discrete and attached, on two gaming rigs (in 2009 and 2011), and have much respect for Bigfoot Networks and Qualcomm Atheros for developing and updating the products. While I don't regard them as miraculous, neither do I think they are all hype nor entirely reliant on a placebo effect. I do think they produce a very modest and subtle performance boost, and early Hardocp reviews of the first generation Killer cards (the M1 and K1) also reflect that.

Necropost- I'm going to go pick up a CRT today. A gateway 2000 Vivatron. Part of me wishes it was a sony fw900 instead. I'll post pics later.
