Whoa! Warren Spector is now working full-time as studio director at OtherSide Entertainment on System Shock 3 and Underworld Ascendant? I didn't see that coming. :eek:


We still don't know much about the game itself, but we do know it's in good hands: System Shock co-creator Warren Spector is rejoining Otherside Entertainment in a full-time capacity to lead development of System Shock 3. He's been a "creative advisor" to the studio for years, but he'll now be a full-time studio director working on both Underworld Ascendant as well as the System Shock sequel.
 
There are few game producers whose name I know, but as soon as I saw this I thought, wasn't he the producer on the WC series....not that that's going to get me to buy a game on it's own.
 
Deus Ex is still one of my favorite games all-time, so I am excited by this development!
 
grin so he makes a cool rpg years ago when it was cool to make role playing games off his fortune from playing bridge. Should be interesting to see what happens when someone who has been playing the stock market successfully for the better part of what thirty to forty years now? He started at sixteen with a couple million from high stakes bridge and that most people on the street pay attention when he invests in stuff. It should be interesting to see how game reflects the perspective of some one who made money instead of simply financed it...
 
Well, for some reason I was thinking Phil Spector; so I was expecting SS3 to have a lot of reverb in the audio. :)
 
He worked on the original System Shock, which SS2 was basically a copy of, so I'm hoping SS3 is something a little more original.
 
I don't look forward to many games but I have high hopes and great expectations for this one.... after Alien isolation I am craving a space RPG horror/survival game and this is shaping up to be the dream team.
