I'm looking to get a basic mechanical keyboard for work (with "quiet" switches like Cherry MX Browns). I have a Ducky DK2108 at home which I love but unfortunately I can't use the same model at work - we use PS/2 KVMs, which do not work with USB keyboards (even with USB-to-PS/2 adapters).

Does anyone know of any basic mechanical keyboards for sale in the UK that are natively PS/2?

not quiet but an IBM Model M would definitely fit the bill otherwise... I used a Model M space saver with a KVM without issue

The only PS/2 keyboard I know of that's still made is the Unicomp. They have the PS/2 option and they do offer a UK keyboard layout for a $10 customization fee. It's not a quiet keyboard, though... they only offer Buckling Spring. There was a rubber dome Quiet Touch option, but you probably don't want that if you're interested in a mechanical.

It's made in the US (Kentucky, to be exact), but there is someone distributing it in the UK with the proper layout. They seem to be overcharging for it, though... so if you're willing to import it, you might get it cheaper, newer and with more customization options. I found a generic Cherry one that you might like better, too.

For what it's worth, I've heard that some USB keyboards will work through a KVM switch with an adapter. Some adapters and some keyboards work better than others. Otherwise, I would start hunting on eBay for a used mechanical keyboard from a UK seller. New native PS/2 ones will be scarce. Probably not the answer you wanted to hear, but I think you probably suspected you'd have some issues once an online search didn't give you what you were looking for.

The TG3 Deck series keyboards should work for you. In PS/2 mode it's one of the only ones that work with motherboards like the damn GIGABYTE boards that won't recognize USB keyboards in the UEFI. They come with an optional PS/2 or USB cable. You specify what you want at the time of ordering. If the Deck keyboards aren't available, you can check out it's parent companies offerings. TG3 offers all kinds of keyboards for POS systems and office work which should be available on your side of the world.
