Can't decide what memory to get for my Asus ROG Maximus VIII Hero Alpha

I am planning a ASUS ROG MAXIMUS VIII HERO ALPHA. I want G.Skill Trident Z DDR4. MOBO can handle 3200MHz/3400MHz speeds. The 3200 can do CL14-14-14-34, but the 3600 can only do CL16-16-16-36. Should I consider the DDR4-3866MHz @ CL18-22-22-42??? Starting off with 32GB and will double it later. HERE'S my build so far.

The MOBO manual says different things about the G.Skill memory. For example:

G.SKILL F4-3400C16D-16GTZ 16GB (2 x 8GB) DS - - 16-18-18-38 1.35V

The timing is supposed to be CL16-16-16-36. Why is it different? Should I consider faster memory elsewhere? Suggestions?

I've been running nothing but G.Skill in my past 3 rigs. My goto brand when it comes to memory, period.

Keep in mind that motherboard manuals are typically written several months before release, and not all memory makers/models are covered that are available at time of actual release... And most mb vendors are a bit slow at going back and revving their manuals with updates...

As to memory, I always get the fastest I can afford with the tightest timings possible. One can then typically run it slower with even tighter timings....

Get the 3200 CAS 14. It has the best latency. at 8.75ns vs 9.41ns. The 200MTs isn't worth that higher latency.

8.75ns is almost as good as the best DDR3 RAM out there.

See this thread. I made it with my excel file in it so feel free and download it and check out the RAMs for yourself. You'll see the money is at 3200MTs CL14 :D I also added 4th and 8th word too and you can see how higher MTs are making those better even against more snappier ram.

EDIT: I just checked that 3600 and if its CL 16 thats a solid choice too.

Also as i stated in the other thread check out the ASRock OC formula. It'll do any of those RAMs

as I started above they both are comparable. but the latency is hair better on the 3200 until the 8th word but the other has higher BW (hence the 8th word being better)....so i think they are comparable. I would go with the cheaper of the two. and make sure command is 1n or 1T or whatever. I just know havign command at 1 is best and is substantial. At least thats what i read....

3200
8.75 9.6875 10.9375
vs
3600
8.888888889 9.722222222 10.83333333

Ah, 3600 doesn't come in 32GB (16GBx2). That leaves the 3200 & 3400 and the 3400 doesn't do 14CL so 3200 it s, I guess.

I used to be a diehard Mushkin guy, and still do like their memory, but I gotta give G.Skill some credit. Used them due to the extreme value(bang for the $) in my last 2 builds and I'm very happy. Last was the Trident Z PC3000 Cas15 mem. I'm happy with it.

I'm using Trident Z at 3200 and Ripjaws V at 2400 on another system. I highly recommend Trident Z. Keep in mind that the memory controller on the 6700k can be iffy and it may limit your memory speeds regardless of what ram you buy and what your mobo is (especially when overclocking and using 4 sticks of RAM). I ended up RMA'ing a 6700k and that fixed my whole system.
