In an effort to help keep hate speech off its service, Twitter has suspended over 125,000 accounts since the middle of 2015. The company says that eliminating those accounts propagating violence and hate is an important part of the fight against radicalism.

Like most people around the world, we are horrified by the atrocities perpetrated by extremist groups. We condemn the use of Twitter to promote terrorism and the Twitter Rules make it clear that this type of behavior, or any violent threat, is not permitted on our service. As the nature of the terrorist threat has changed, so has our ongoing work in this area. Since the middle of 2015 alone, we’ve suspended over 125,000 accounts for threatening or promoting terrorist acts, primarily related to ISIS.

Any criticism can be cast as 'hate'.

We're done if this type of restriction goes over any means of communication of significance. If public dissent can't happen with speech, then it will happen with bullets..

Care to guess how many critics of SJW/feminazis are thrown in there mixed with the 'terrorists' ?

Twitter's dumb anyway.

I really love social networking, have since xanga and myspace and college only facebook. I just for some reason can't get into or understand instagram or twitter.

I think COD players should be banned for hate speech, have you heard those kids? God forbid they call you everything in the book and then you blow them away in a match, the things you will hear or read when they message you later, whew...

You're on HardOCP and you play console FPS?

Get over yourselves, this is Twitter targeting actual ISIS accounts. Roosh V's Twitter account remains unsuspended, you may continue to worship him to your heart's content.

I am surprised all the social media entities have not done this much sooner, if not from day one. I'd wager it was because of money from ad revenue. It's always about money.

I thought the only that on twitter was topless selfies, guess I should broaden my search

Yea, Used to be more of the pc enthusiast, always pushing the latest hardware. Now I am settled down some and moving more toward spending money on guns instead, so I think I still fit in slightly :)
