Those of you who have had first-hand experience with VR porn are free to comment.

"What if they could duplicate sex via the Internet?" says Lemur, who's seated on a couch with a leopard-print throw in the Safari room, one of the Ranch's five "VIP" bungalows. They sport themes like King Arthur's Court, Arabian Nights, Ancient Rome and the popular 1960s-style bungalow, which was occupied during my visit. If simulated sex becomes too realistic, Lemur wonders whether VR might just drive Sheri's, which has been around for about three decades, out of business.

I know that if there were ever realistic sex dolls I'd be good to go!

I dont know that VR porn will be here, or at least a threat to certain businesses not so far from where I now live, till the tech is hands free.

Sight and sound are a very big part of our personal world, when it comes to sex though -at least for me- touch, taste, and smell are just as important as sight and sound... when the VR experience can connect me with the person of my choosing, allow one or both of us to jump into the skin of our avatar and every sense is appeased, well then the tech... like those using it, will blast off.

Gona have to wonder though, is that person giving me a blow really an 800 year old grandma, the 'big' guy across the street or a Russian bot trying to get to my bank account?

If the head is good does it really matter?

Porn bots will be the death of us all. The robots do not need to slaughter us. Just sit back and wait while everyone bangs their perfect porn bot, and skips out on actual procreation.;)

I have already been told that I can't have one. These are going to cause some troublllle.

Is that what you're requesting it to be? ;)

VR porn is fun, but c'mon... that's like saying that breakfast bars can replace fine dining. For VR porn to reach the level of realism of actual sex with a prostitute, you'd need a level of brain control that would be downright scary. After all, if you could plug into something that can give you the sensation of touch and pleasure, who is to say it can't be hacked and cause someone pain? Plus, the government would outlaw such "pleasure on demand" tech since it would be too addicting. Not to mention who knows how far in the future such tech would be.

Right now, VR porn is like a low resolution wrap around monitor with 3D sound headphones, no more, no less.

I speculate this is not so much a "news" article, but sponsored content that Oculus paid for.

Actually not low resolution at all. I was curious of course and tried out czech VR 4k virtual. On my Galaxy Note 5 with Samsung VR, it was very clear. Mostly you can only look up and down and about 20 degrees L/R but it was.....an experience.

On the oculus dk2, a bit pixelated, but i'm sure the new screens on the retail should clear that right up.

Not strictly disagreeing with you, but the medium of highest fidelity doesn't always win. Often it's the one that's most convenient.

Awful lot of basement dwellers out there to whom VR is going to be a lot more convenient than trying to coax a real woman into their realm.

I believe it is inevitable that VR, coupled with to-be-developed hardware (haptic feedback devices) is going to exist, and it will claim a large market.

Clean, safe, convenient, complete discretion, etc.

There will be websites like cam sites, that have models with compatible hardware, and you can book live interactive encounters with them, or experience pre-recorded events, haptic feedback and all.

This is going to happen, bordellos simply need to adapt and get the hardware to accommodate online encounters as well as physical.
