Awesome. Installing these on my 290 box now. The gf has been playing a lot of Fallout 4, she will be pleased.

Everything is running so smoothly for me I'm actually thinking of staying as-is and skipping this release.

I'll have to try some more games later. Have only played Lords of the Fallen since installing this, and I wasn't exactly having issues with that game before.

Interested to see if it fixes some issues I've been having with GTA V performance.

has this release brought the 390 performance upto the level of the 970 in FO4? I was thinking of getting a 390 to play FO4 on until the new NV cards came out until I saw how badly it performed compared to the 970.

Went ahead and upgraded, fast, smooth, and everything operational. I'm really liking these new Crimson drivers.

What I am curious about was the option for minimal install with a 12MB download(!). Anyone try it?

I can't say I'm happy with Crimson. I've got v15.12 loaded, and it says I'm "up to date". Well, if there's a hotfix 16.1 out, I don't think I'm really up to date.

I only got 15.12 via autoupdate once 16.1 came out. While 15.12 was out, my install was happily telling me that my 15.11 was also "up to date".

Crimson is one version out of date and happy.

Heaven forbid you have to manually update your video card driver...You can do it!:D

LOL! Thanks. ;) It's just so hard... files, downloads, user agreements. I only have so many clicks left in my life...

I don't care about doing it manually: my issue is that the Crimson version checker has never given correct information to me.

I don't understand why they removed the Advanced Video Settings. I have not updated my HTPC. It seems like a step backwards to me.

It’s a pain in the butt. They removed things with no warning or info about if or when they are coming back. I ended up making a clean install partition for Win7 and movies. It would happen a few times a year. Upgrade the drivers and then PowerDVD don’t work or something else. Now no hot keys for presets and you can’t make a full preset.

I know they see folks with a HTPC or more than one monitor or two GPUs as niche and not worth supporting but why give us the finger too?

They removed anything that can already be done through windows itself.

install ultramon if you want to res-switch on the fly.

Not like you should have any of those turned on anyway.. which can be accomplished by selecting Custom.

Maybe "hotfix" counts as "beta" for purposes of the auto-update functionality. Or maybe there's just some lag time between then the drivers get posted to the website and when they get added to whatever database Radeon Settings queries when checking for new versions. Either way, it definitely feels like their driver team is more agile these days.
