A Picture I Took 2015

That's very nice. Did you deliberately position yourself so that the lines on the beach point towards the boat? Because it's very effective.

Ya, walked around for 15 min on the beach trying to find a composition I like. :)

Yummy! Great detail, I like how you put zipping car lights in contrast to the stoic old cathedral. The flailing leaves on the left are a nice touch and are also a cool counter-point. I like.

I visited Fantastic Caverns in Springfield Missouri in September. They haul you around in a trailer behind jeeps. A unique experience. They do a big photo of the jeep plus trailer with everyone in it, Branson is just south so this is normal, if you want to be in the front of the photo be the first one in the trailer and sit on the right side.

They haul you into the way back of the cavern, then backtrack a little and turn left into the original entrance. Was sort of fun.

Looking up towards the ceiling in one of the "rooms". We were told the parking lot is right above. 1/50 f/3.5 ISO 3200

Panoramas created in Lightroom. All handheld worked well. Only annoyance is that the clone and heal brush don't work off the edge of the resultant image. There was a little white area due to the stitching and I just wanted to "fill" it in and Lightroom won't let you. Have to bring the image into Photoshop.

I'm sorry, but that picture doesn't look right. Have you processed it for HDR or something? It looks like something out of a video game.

Are you still in London? Did you manage to take photos inside St Paul's?

Maybe it is because he used a tilt shift lens to get straight vertical lines and we aren't used to seeing that.

I think it was a hair tilted too much., but I haven't taken it into a program and checked.

I do like the processing on it.

Yeah, I think you're just not that used to seeing shifted images for the purpose of maintaining perspective. I also have a shot that used my 14-24mm at 14mm, but the end result is that you see a LOT more of the ground in the shot too. Otherwise, I used my standard editing routine: a little clarity boost, bring highlights down, shadows up, and add contrast.

Daggah, your pictures continue to inspire me.

Here are a few more from a second cave I visited in September. Marvel Cave beneath Silver Dollar City Amusement Park in Branson, Missouri. It is considered one of the attractions at the park, so there is no extra entrance fee. The park also has a few roller coasters, my favorite is Wild Fire, and the most notable one is Outelaw Run a wooden coaster with 3 inversions. Aside from the rides there are tons of restaurants and shows in the park.

This cave was lit very dark, so most of my photos were ISO 12,800 and F3.5 or F4. The little popup flash on my camera was enough to brighten the big cathedral room a little because of the high ISO. Otherwise I didn't use my flash.

Cathedral Room. 5 hot air balloons were flown at once in this room in 1994:

Finally getting around to editing some pics. Here are a couple of Dale Chihuly's glass sculptures. The first is from the Gaylord Opryland resort in Nashville, TN, and the second is in the Frederick Meijer Gardens in my hometown of Grand Rapids, MI. I seem to be running into them everywhere, but once you know his style they're really easy to pick out, which helps.
