Humblebundle Monthly.. Alien Isolation $12

Alien Isolation is an amazing game. Shame it did not get more recognition and will probably never get a sequel. Make sure you play it with headphones...but its not the sound that will get you...

Excellent way to draw in subscribers. I wonder how quickly you can unsubscribe... After the first month, or after 12 months (like those old music CD-of-the-month subscriptions, if anyone else is old enough to remember those... )

You can unsubscribe right after you pay. I've done it for each bundle.

You can look at the past 3 months bundles on that page. The only game from those 3 months that even looked remotely mainstream was Saints Row and Valkyrie Chronicles. I think they are pushing this Alien Isolation as a way to sucker people in.

Monthly bundles have been pretty disappointing, so I usually wouldn't post a monthly bundle.
But, since the game's $12 anyways on sale at other sites, might as well buy it here and get a "free" bundle.

On a side note, apparently the Humblestore is also selling Alien Isolation for $12.49.

I've been happy so far with my $12 a month since the start. Only a couple games I didn't already have. I think it's been a great value personally. I'm sure I'll hit a month here and there with only a key I can use but it evens itself out or I can just sell the ones I already have. For $12 it's a no brainer. I'm just wondering if they will have the DLC in the rest of the months bundle for Feb. That would be really sweet. I just picked up the whole collection during the Xbox countdown sale for $10. So if it doesn't come with the extras I can still wait for those on PC. Payday 2 and COH2 both came with extra dlc in the monthly bundle it just wasn't the games. So who knows what they will do with Isolation.

So they tell you in advance one game for the upcoming bundle early all the time? I am not sure if I want to subscribe, but it doesn't seem like a bad deal for a one off purchase of AI + extra games next month. Though I don't know when I'll get to play it my backlog is full. I guess it comes down to if I remember to buy it within the 34 day window lol.

I've signed up with Humble Monthly as Humble Store is one of my go-to stores for digital game sales. It isn't an "ultra discount" kind of place for the newest AAA titles (a la GreenManGaming, G2A, etc), but much like Steam itself they both tend to have frequent and high discount sales at different times, alternating between the two. Of course, Humble is most famous for being (the first major?) game "pay what you want" Bundle source. There are a wide variety of Humble Bundles, some of them switching as frequently as weekly etc. Their "special" bundles, as well as their Weekly, Mobile, and Book/Audiobook/Media ones are a good value too.

Humble has other benefits as well. Its notable that Humble gives players the widest access to OS and platforms depending on how a particular game is supported. That is to say, if a game has Linux/OS support it is indicated when sold on Humble. Likewise, if a game has a Steam (or in some cases GOG, Uplay etc...) key it is included in the purchase for that title, but Humble also hosts direct downloads and torrents for many games themselves should the game be available direct/DRM free - many times players need to choose between the two (ie get a direct download version OR a Steam key) but Humble often grants both if a game is published both ways. Furthermore, Humble has a frequently used widget that developers can use to sell/publish their games. Another big benefit is Humble's commitment to charity. On particular Bundles, there are typically a few charities that get a portion from the user's purchase (though the user can actually define exactly how much of their purchase goes to what aspect on Bundles. Humble sets a sane default that Devs get the most, charities get a little bit, and Humble themselves get a small amount but users can change it as they wish). However, on the Humble Store purchases or if a user has a Humble Account (where you can go to see all your bundles, purchases etc..and download them, access keys etc..) users can pick a charity to get 10% of their purchase value from a list of over 300! So if you're into the EFF, Doctors Without Borders or something more personally important to you, you can pick as you like.

Humble Monthly is the newest project they offer having run for the past few months. For $12 each month you'll be granted a significant bundle of titles. You have to pay prior to the cut off date for the next monthly bundle to lock it in. By doing so you'll often be given one of the titles from the upcoming month to play early. You can unsubscribe anytime and you keep all the bundles you bought - it is NOT like you only have access to them if you are subscribed. Personally, I think the $12 is a great value given what we've seen since the program's inception. Every month you're given a handful of titles, including at least one major title that usually would cost a lot more even if it was on a heavy Steam sale. Remembering that most Humble Bundles require around $10 to unlock all the big titles and that Monthy tends to have even bigger/better value titles it seems worthwhile to me. February's Monthly will come with Alien Isolation, which is worth at least $12 (that's what the base game costs at 75% off during Steam sale currently!) , so there's really no reason to pass it up if you think you will enjoy the title. Consider the rest simply "extras" if need be!

Overall though, I've been happy more or less with Humble Monthly. You get a great experience for $12 monthly

Edit: If you buy the Feb Monthly bundle now and get Alien Isolation prior to the end of Jan 4th, go and buy the Season Pass on Steam for $7! Its at 75% off too!

Hands down Alien Isolation is one of the best games I ever played. I was so sad when I finished it. I was having such a good time I never wanted it to end.
