Hello folks. Does anyone have any knowledge on these two cards?
Apparently they're decent, and top of the 390 list.
But I want the quieter card since I have sensitive ears.

Which one should I spring for?

I don't have any experience with them firsthand, but they should both be pretty quiet. They both have passive cooling modes where the fans don't spin at all under light loads. The MSI one has a backplate if that matters to you at all.

I have the msi 8gb card. It's very quiet. I'm glad I purchased it.

Haven't used those cards specifically, but I've had cards from both companies and been happy with both.

the sapphire certainly looks like it has the most impressive cooler to me

So if you had to do it all over again, would you buy the same card?

maybe grab a 970 instead ?

this might help you understand that question

these days the 970 and 390 are not entirely that much different. Power used = heat

I wouldn't take too much serious that results and/or entirely true, it's a Grady review, his review are always controversial at the softest term in the power consumption tables..

^ That's a handly little chart. Is there one for the sapphire card?

This last one its very curious as the pic show how much power can take a Custom GTX 970, even over a reference GTX 980.

I think you are asking, do I regret buying it? No, it is one hell of a card.

I did have my first AMD driver issue with this card, there was a hot fix or something and it was just one game that had issues. I have bought from green and red for years, 9700 Pro, oh what fun we had.

After Nvidia puts it's drivers behind the Nvidia Experience, my new cards will probably be AMD unless AMD graphics are to Nvidia like their CPU's are to Intel now.
