980ti + Sony x830c no signal when selecting 4k

Trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong. My PC is hooked up to my Sony via hdmi. The resolution defaults to 1080p. When I select 3840x2160 on the nv control panel the screen goes blank then say no signal. My tv is running the latest firmware and should support 4k 60hz 4:4:4 chroma over hdmi 2.0. Any help is appreciated!

The shorter and thicker the cable, the better.
