27" Acer Predator XB270HU bprz $684.19 at Amazon

Agreed, I love mine. I paid just over 800 for it, so this is a great deal compared to that :p

This has the same panel, as I understand it, as my MG279Q which is tremendous. Great deal for one of the only G-Sync IPS displays out there.

Its probably a price drop because its largely being replaced by the XB271HU, if aesthetics are your thing the 271HU has much more aggressive styling and beyond that the bezels are much more "modern" and closer to the ROG Swifts and Dell Infinity displays of the world.

And of course PG279Q (IPS Swift) is out as well if you can find it in stock. Same panel as the rest of these 144+Hz IPS/AHVA VRR panels, but Swift will do 165Hz.

Do you know if the old one is the same panel as this new one? Is it just styling that's different? Because the new one is like $200 more it seems.

Gsync 2.0, 165hz with an HDMI input as well. Now the new batch of XB270HU's can oc. I got one atm for temporary, and I'm running it at 165.

In terms of price though. That's not a authorized dealer on amazon. Or better yet I should say 3rd party. MSRP for the XB271HU is 799.99. So it's normally around a 80-110 dollar difference.

I'm glad I don't know much about monitors. I'm as happy as a pig in poop with my 28" 4k for $399 from Monoprice that I've had almost a year now. Can't imagine any better. :p

Good to know...might just make sense to wait for that model to drop to $700 then.

If this was closer to $500 I might bite.

If you are waiting for it to drop to 700..It will take some time =P. If you don't need the hdmi input, just nab a xb270hu. They are fantastic.

If you are looking for the best $500 investment...Look at the MG279Q from asus. But keep in mind with all these monitors, the lottery panel is strong =*(.

Sold mine on Ebay for $599 with free shipping.. so got $500. I am now used to using the 50" LG49UB8500 for gaming at 4k :) fallout 4 on ultra @ 4k 60hz on titan x SLI, is smooth as butter.

This XB270HU deal is "Ships from and sold by Amazon.com", just in case anyone was confused.

edit: nm, I see you were referencing a posted link to a XB271HU model.

MG279Q is FreeSync and I'm not going AMD so...yeah.

Strongly considered getting this one but the tax on Amazon purchases sort of kills the deal for me. Going to wait to see if it drops on Newegg or someplace like that.

Also, looks like the XB271HU is around MSRP now on Amazon if anyone was interested.

Ehm, that's not the IPS version...different model.

Dammit you got me all excited for nothing. :(

The "Abprz" variant is TN. The "bprz" is IPS.

Yeah, it's confusing because the base model numbers are the same.

The -HK is apparently a 28" 4K model.

You are right. I have both the bprz xb270hu and the xb280hk (trying to sell that one on the buy/sell thread). Whew I checked, I have the ips version :)

Too many issues with this monitor for me to go through the hassle since I am so picky. Even most of the online reviews had some odd issues like a smudge on the screen or dirt behind the screen. I had never even heard of nonsense like that before. And even without that, that glossy bezel would drive me nuts as it reflects everything the room and then also reflects the screen itself on the inside edges of the bezel. It just looks like a cheap pos monitor too.

$629.99 now at Newegg + 10% off w/ promo code EMCKNKV24, ends 12/23. Brings the total to $566.99. I would recommend Newegg Premier for anyone making the purchase, for returns/replacements without a restocking fee and they cover return shipping as well. I bought mine earlier this year through Newegg and it had dead pixels, my exchange using Premier was handled quickly and without hassle and my second unit was flawless. They are currently offering a free 3 month membership if you download the mobile app.

I just came here to post that actually...pushed me over the edge to ordering.

EDIT: How long does it take for Newegg Premier to show up? I did the stuff for the 3 months and it still isn't showing up on my account after 15+ minutes.

EDIT2: Never mind, I ended up using a .edu account to get a free year and THAT finally did go through after several tries. The Premier signup stuff seems iffy as hell.

Insane price at $566. Just hope you get a good panel without dead pixels or backlight bleed.

Just posting again to say "buy this" if you've been thinking about 1440p, or gsync, this panel is amazing and this price is fantastic.

Okay for $567 shipped I wont be quite as picky about the bezel. I did order two of them so I hope at least one of them has no screen issues.

Those issues were fixed with the summer revision batches. Sure you may still get a bad one, but you're far more likely to get a bad ASUS than Acer at this point in time for either the 270HU or 271HU.

Newegg deal is dead but this is down to $666.34 on Amazon if anyone is still interested.

Out of stock...as it should be really. Great price for a great monitor despite the QA issues.

It's not OOS, it's just not sold by Amazon, but still has free shipping.

I'd probably get it through Amazon directly for the return policy, though.

Electricians tape? Or a deft hand with sandpaper? :p

Remember the days when manufacturers would charge like an extra $100-$150 to guarantee no dead or stuck pixels in the central viewing area?

Just got mine today...pretty darn awesome. Seems to have a stuck subpixel near the middle but it's pretty hard to see, and everything else seems good. Not worth returning for that I think.

I will be sending mine back. My screen was pretty much flawless with no dead pixels or backlight issues but I was not impressed at all with how the monitor performs. Not every game works with 144hz of course and at 60hz it actually blurs more than my old IPS panel. And there is no way to stop it from using the high refresh rate in some games even if you have it set to 60 hz on the desktop. I also tried ULMB and thought I was going to throw up because of how bad it looked with tons of ghosting and horrible jitter when panning. And gsync was not all that impressive either in every game and I noticed more hitching in some games at 60 fps when panning than just using regular vsync. 30 to 40 fps range looked horrific even with gsync and not smooth at all. :(

Umm... it sounds to me like you just had some issues on your overall setup, probably software side. Because none of your experience is normal. I don't know about this monitor, but my RoG Swift definitely wasn't like that. And I doubt this one is just so awful that this stuff would be normal with it.

Furthermore, why are you even trying to use it at 60fps? With G-Sync, it'll adjust the refresh rate according to your fps. I always leave mine at 144Hz regardless of what I can actually run the game at. For instance, FC4 with absolutely everything jacked up won't play beyond probably like 30-40FPS, but it still looks fine.

Finally, make sure you turn off V-Sync when using G-Sync, and vice versa when using ULMB.

I mean it should kind of be common sense to look for things that are wrong with your setup when your sentiments are so far away from almost everyone that has tried the same product.
