Searcing for the ultimate SFX psu :D

My old silverstone 450w has seen its glory days. time to Upgrade. In my experience the 3 Silverstone ive had are all stable so I like them. Mostly fan noice that usually bothers me. Anni ideas what to pick?

Is SFX-L also okay? (what is your case?) It should improve noise because of a larger fan. As of now, Silverstone only has the 80+ Gold 500W SX500-LG, however they will realease a 700W 80+ platinum model Q1 2016 or so.

If SFX-L is ok, the SX700-LPT truly is a candidate for it. Highest power and highest efficiency are already a given, the only variable right now is noise.

If you're only looking at SFX, the Corsair SF600 is expected to be the ultimate choice once it's coming out. The 92mm fan promises to be more quiet than the current Silverstone models and at 600W it is as powerful as it gets in that form factor.

the SF600 from corsair is going to be SFX-L Size?

In my experience a few cm PSU depth has never been a problem, like cabels and cooler hight restrictions :) but several good tips here.It seem smart just to wait a little to see what people say about the Corair and the Silverstone platinium.

Now my 450w is modded with a 8cm Noctua. would really like a semi passive fan

Have several cases, fractal design, SG05 and a small modding project with a packard bell "ITX-tower"

As others mentioned, the SX700-LPT from Silverstone will be ideal. But I haven't been able to find it anywhere, nor have I seen more mentioned about it on the tech sites.

Because it is not out yet, it has been announced at some tech show, but not yet released…

Same with the Corsair SF600, a SFX format 600 watt PSU…

There are threads on both of these PSUs in this very sub-forum…

Never heard about the brand nor the model itself. Kind of sketchy chinese web page. I'd not buy that unit unless it has a decent professional review.

Andyson has made some very mediocre units in the past but Jonnyguru has given some very high ratings to some of their newer Titanium-rated ATX units.

I mean if you are able to make something Titanium rated, that's already proof that you know your stuff, so I wouldn't expect anything less than at least a "very good" final score.
