Nvidia shield with free remote $150 Black Friday

Sucks there isn't an expandable memory option, and instead you have to shell out another $100 for decent storage options. Still, nice find!

well you can use an usb drive, would be cheaper too.

It's also got a Micro SD card slot on the back.

Ok, didn't think that it had a micro SD slot. Not listed on the regular specs page, but it does show it on the Support page. Thanks!

Yeah, and there's a $99 200GB Micro SD card out now... so it's deff. expandable. I'll probably pick up one on Monday.

Another good storage option is something like this USB 3.0 to SATA adapter, which can power 2.5" HDD and SSDs, throw an older 250GB SSD or old 300-500GB laptop SSD and you've got a much cheaper option than the Pro, only downside is the dongle out the back etc.

Does anyone know if you have to go to a physical store to get the deal? Can it be ordered at your favorite participating retailer online? I keep looking for fine print / details, and cant seem to find any.

Best Buy ships. Just checked.

Try emailing CS, they probably won't give you the $50 credit but you can probably get a free remote. I got one coming from NV/DRI because I bought for $150 before they started the free remote promo.

The free remote was already included.

Pretty interested in this. But maybe its better to setup a PC with hdmi to TV?

I use my chromecast with a surface pro a lot because its much easier than typing on xbox one / ps4 controller to find youtube videos.

Any good reviews you guys recommend to learn more? What is your main use for this device?

I regret not getting a Chromecast earlier, user experience is great, and I know this can do chromecast plus more.

Now I am looking to setup a PC too.

Thanks!

BestBuy screwed up today.. Went in on black Friday to get my 30 day price guaranty on the Nvidia Shield Pro w/ free remote I just got a week ago and they said no chance! He said your welcome to go buy one and return mine for the difference..

So I went and picked one up and stood in a long line.. realized half way through it that I forgot the remote and i'm gona have to ask to go get that when I get up to the counter. I tell them at the counter and the women told me that there out of the remotes and that you will have to have one mailed to me.. Said no thanks...

Get on the phone and check other stores and there all sold out on the remotes.. if I add the pro to the cart you cant have the remote shipped.. you have to select a store for pick up! haha..

Just came home and went on amazon and said SNAG to the Pro with free remote and $50 off at $250 total plus tax and free prime shipping.

Yup.. they would rather lose a sale over it and also would rather take a return which seems stupid.. just give the guy the difference back would seem logical... Plus i'm a elite member.. Strange.

Is there any reason to buy this if I don't want to play games on it?

No reason to buy if you don't want/ need gaming features and are just looking for a media streamer. Get a Roku, Amazon Fire, or Apple TV if all you want is a streaming media player.
