$550 shipped, $500 AR, basically a LG 34UM95 without Thunderbolt ports. Same panel insofar as I know.

Seems like a heck of a deal to me. I just paid ~$250 more for a curved 34" 21:9 Dell UltraSharp, but if you're fine without the curve and shorter 1 vs. 3 year warranty, this looks to be the way to go.

Is good for gaming? (fps mainly) I'm having a 2nd thought of going ultrawide IPS monitor (60hz) or the Samsung JU7500 (40") deal right now. What do you guys think?

it would probably bother me :(. I might pull the trigger on samsung 40" JU7500 deal.

The LGs are supposedly better about backlight bleed, from what I've read in reviews and from users here. Not saying perfect, but not a big concern. The AOC and Dell are apparently worse. I'm hoping I get a good Dell... and willing to make Best Buy miserable until I get a good one, if necessary. I don't spend $800+ on things that aren't perfect. ;)

I absolutely love my Dell 3415W, despite the backlight bleed. Up to you if you can handle that.

You sure it's bleed, and not IPS glow? Personally I'd take glow from a faster IPS vs. a 16ms GTG VA panel like those Samsung 4Ks that's going to blur like crazy (I had a 40" JU6500 that was returned for that very reason -- I hear the JU7500s are a little better, but not drastically).

I'm pretty sure it's bleed (my other IPS monitors aren't nearly as bad).

Take a look in the various threads here, there's a few examples. Tbh though, it doesn't really bother me enough as the only thing that I would've considered as an alternative was 4k Phillips which is a VA I think (If you're in the US I don't know if you get them there).

For the most part gaming is great, and even when the devs get lazy (looking at you, Bethesda) there are normally work arounds that are simple.

Grrr I need curved damn it!

Then the Dell U3415W for $800 shipped from MacMall (or $659 if you'll take a refurb/open box) seems to be the cheapest option for curved IPS right now. I haven't seen the LG 34UC97 curved 34" 21:9 IPS under $900 anywhere. The Samsung S34E790C curved 34" 21:9 is a SVA panel and is $670 shipped over at newegg after promo code NOVDEALS12, making it the least expensive option for a curved 34" 21:9 right now by a good ($130) margin.

I'm hoping to get it closer to $550 new for the dell but i know that's gonna be a stretch :D... Just gotta be patient. Is it pretty much accepted that the dell is the best of the three major curved monitors overall? (vs samsung's VA panel and LG's 2 curved models)

Not gonna happen in the next six months, I suspect. Like, no way in hell. If it didn't happen today, and it doesn't happen Monday (it won't) then you're SOL. Either accept you gotta stick with flat, or pony up. ;) Lowest I've seen the Dell is $750 -- MacMall and several other retailers had it at that price until like yesterday or the day before, then I guess they realized their price was a good $65 less than what anyone else was charging and brought it back up.

Not really that cut and dry. They all have advantages and disadvantages -- I'd recommend you read a bunch of reviews and watch videos of each to get a feel for things like color shift on the VA and potential light bleed / glow issues. I never drop this kind of cash without doing my homework ten times over.
