So here’s a look inside the Apple Pencil, literally. I think it looks better without the plastic casing, but I’m weird like that.

Since the dawn of the iPad, Apple has remained resolute that the iPad is meant to be enjoyed sans-stylus. So when the iPad Pro debuted with a $99 must-have accessory in the form of a stylus, we were obviously intrigued. What makes the Apple Pencil so special? From what we've heard, it's got some nifty features, but we're more interested in what's going on inside that shiny white cylinder.

"must have" my ass.

The fact it ONLY works with the iPad pro? Sure okay...

And any "designer" I meet that uses their ipad as a platform for work? (CAD/etc) yeah they won't be getting the job.

I have to admit, just for fun I went to apples website and looked at this smart pen, and their "smart keyboard". The amount of self circle jerking over it was hilarious, it's like they don't even realize smart pens and smart keyboards have been done years and years ago by many other companies. The fact it has an apple logo on it now means it's somehow revolutionary? *yawn*

I'm just waiting for the new line of apple eyewear, hats, shirts, and personal body massagers to come out. Stick an apple logo on it, and some dumbass will have to have it.

Outside of available applications (which require a platform be available first), is there some inherent reason this person would not be able to do the work using this hardware?

Preconceived notions like collegeboy69us's?

There's no good reason that I see other than software. This thing lives or dies on software support IMO.

It's about time they release a stylus. They want the Ipad to be a productivity device, how do you take notes on the fly or do basic sketches without it? I suppose they got tired of everyone using the China special stylus with their devices and wanted something of equal quality?

Typical Apple policy - When the battery goes bad buy a new one.

by the time the battery dies completely Apple Pen 2.0 will be out and 1.0 will have been forcibly made obsolete by Apple so you'd be buying a new one anyway.

Impressive bit of engineering that went into this.

Up next the iDildo! For when you're brainwashed to think the Rabbit isn't good enough!
