Nexus M ( 2015 ) Smartphone

My 6P comes today. Problem is, my screen protector didn't ship until today and my case hasn't shipped at all yet.

Going to have to be very careful for the next few days...

I've been using mine naked since I got it (mostly because I haven't found a decent case for it). The dust build up is annoying, but so far I haven't dropped or dinged it.

I have had a "Versus" case on mine since day one. I love the phone without a case, but as sleek as it is I know I would drop it in a day or so without one.

The case is decent, but the charge plug barely fits.

If you mean this one:

I stayed away from it due to the mostly bad reviews. A common complaint seems to be the holes not matching up correctly?

Right now I'm looking at these two:

I was looking at that same Verus one and like you, got cold feet with all the bad reviews.

Probably will get the spigen when its in stock, but for now I took the 50% discount on the adopted one from the play store. I figured if nothing else google selling it means it shouldn't have any issues.

The only problem I have had with this is the charge port. The normal AC charger fits, but you have to push it in hard and make sure you get the charging symbol.

Headphone jack and camera ports are fine. really it is a fine case, but I got it for $3 via slickdeals so that makes it worth the money.
Spigen looks good too.

So I received the Ringke case and its great! I love it. It fits the 6P perfectly and it comes with a screen protector.

Definitely recommended.

Ordered my 6p 64gb aluminum on the fourth, it shipped today. Even though I asked for regular shipping, its getting fedexed overnight. :D

Pretty happy right now with Google's service.

I hate fedex with a passion! They screw up every single delivery to me. My phone shipped last week and has been sitting one state away for 3 days.

Yet they managed to get my steam conroller here on time...

So, working on setting up my 6P and noticed that default android can't view png images?? wtf? I have a ton in my pictures that I backed up so I could put on my 6P and none of the PNGs are viewable. I thought that was a pretty basic image file format no?

Viewable here on n6 2014... What app are you trying to use?

I got my nexus 6p, so far it is good, I can see the pink hue that people talk about but it doesn't seem to be a defect to me, it seems like a viewing angle issue (maybe some kind of coating on the glass?). My coworker has a 6p as well and his looks the same, slightly pink head on and more bluish from the side.

Edit: Just checked my note 4 and it does the same thing, I think people might be over reacting a bit, I wouldn't have even noticed if nobody had said anything. I used my note 4 for almost a year and never noticed.

Edit 2: Just checked the speakers and the top one is definitely louder than the bottom one. Not sure if I would return it or not because I don't really use speakers on phones much. Also one side of the plastic piece on the back bottom is slightly higher than the other side but only ever so slightly. From what I read on the forums both of these are common problems and it doesn't really seem like I would get one that is completely perfect if I returned mine.

I preordered the Spigen case. Though won't get to me until the end of the month.

Received the Spigen case and I'm liking it so far. Fits really well and is very sleek and simple. The power and volume proxy-buttons have a nice click to them, but you lose the texture for the power button which is annoying.

Good to hear, I've got one on the way. I have the adopter case and I hate it. It's like the buttons don't like up right. Trying to hit either volume ends up in the volume going up and down erratically. They are very crunchy buttons. The case is kinda loose in just that spot. Too bad, because without that issue, it would be decent.

I neglected to mention this, but the power-button+volume-down-for-screenshot function works perfectly with the Spigen case.

Either slap a case on it or upgrade to Note 5 and call it the day.

Upgrade to crappy software that never gets updated. Why do you keep spamming threads like this? Do you realize you're a caricature at this point in this sub?

The Note 5 gets Android 6.0 update next month, December.

And TW on the N5 truly has been toned down significantly from previous Samsung phones.

Slap on a nice Material theme, and the phone is shockingly great actually.

that is when samsung is going to send it out to the carriers it will be 6-7 months after that before verizon or att push the ota out after that...

I have a note 3 i remember how painful it was to wait the 7 months before they released the 4.4.2 update then 4 more months for 4.4.4 and finally 3 months after that for 5.1 for the final update when the note 4 with very similar specs is getting 6...

Reminds me of people who hate curry but aren't willing to try or had one bad experience. Had the runs trying out a place in the middle of nowhere in Tennessee but didn't stop me from enjoying naan and curry.

I'm on T-Mobile, so we will see the 6.0 update in December, and I am of course Rooted and ROM'd, worst case I'll just flash the 6.0 ROM on XDA.

Android is all about the ROM'ing for me, if you don't root or ROM, may as well just get an iPhone.

Now that Xposed is available for Android 6.0, my Nexus 6P has become 20x better. Gravity Box customization and in-app adblocking FTW!

I picked up a dbrand skin for my Nexus 6p:

They have a ton of options so you can customize the look of the skin whichever way you want. Obviously just using a skin isn't going to protect the phone is you drop it on concrete or anything like that but it does a good job protecting against normal wear and tear. Check it out if you're interested.

Enjoying my 5x so far, but wondering if I should upgrade to the 6p. Problem is, build quality on the 6 seems iffy.

5x seems to have the better build quality...

yeah Huawei vs LG

Huawei is typically prepaid phones here in the states this is the first true flagship phone we have seen... and overall leaves a bit to be desired...

Despite the quite vocal minority reports of build quality problems etc, my 6P is fricking AMAZING. Best phone I have ever had and fast as a fricking cheetah on crack.

Absolutely NO REGRETS.

The metal on the 6P seems to be thin and cheap. Just get a case.

That display is probably the most expensive component in there.

After a month of usage, I tend to agree. Google Fi was the initial draw, but now I can comfortably say the Huawei hardware was a good leap forward (coming from an HTC flagship here). My only complaints about the 6P would be the camera being slightly laggy and the speaker grooves being dust collectors.

Goodbye Sprint, and good riddance.

Yeah, I've been using my 6P for a while now and the only thing that bugs me is something Google and Hauwei couldn't have controlled: the SD810 throttling.

I haven't run into any throttling myself, but then the only "high-end" game I have installed is Modern Combat 5. Even then I didn't notice any throttling when I played it (which, admittedly, wasn't that long).
