Star Citizen - media blowout, Chris Robert's new game

I may look into the keyboard since im in the market. but I'm looking more for at a Ducky or something similar

I owned a ducky and although it was a nice keyboard I had an issue with the LED's burning out which is really unfortunate for a keyboard in that price range.

Vanguard is hangar ready in 2.0 oh damn nice..

modular keyboard is $200, low end hotas is $150, pre orders start in december and expected delivery is in april-may?

Keyboard is more expensive than i expected.

I am most interested in the high end stick tho so i am holding out on both of those until a later date.

Also dont want to be apart of the first wave which usually is more prone to issue that get reworked in later iterations.

Who's making this keyboard? Razor? Ducky? Corsair?

If it's just an unknown brand, seems like a shit load of money.

I have a corsair k90 so i dont really need a new keyboard, but i like the modular aspect and being able to remove the keypad to reduce the footprint on the desk with a large hotas next to it, so long term i willl likely get one at some point.

yeah I bought a stupid "chicklet" style keyboard last year. It was cheap but I can't stand it, need a normal key one.

The keyboard is made by Saitek as well, I think. If you look at its design it seems very similar (visually) anyway to earlier Saitek/MadCatz "Cyborg" Keyboards. In this regard, I'm a bit disappointed if it hasn't been upgraded. For comparison - http://madcatz.com/products/keyboards/

I'm more interested in the "high end" HOTAS and hope it (and the MFD etc..) will be available for sale at the same time in December, also signed etc. Oh, I've posted this a few times but fellow Concierge members - I think it would be a rather neat perk if they made a version of the high end hardware peripherals with a "concierge" visual skin/appearance. The idea has gotten good response in CIG chat and on forums here and there too, but I'll reiterate the idea since we're getting closer to taking prorders for hardware.

Note: 2.0 first prototype on PTU TODAY ... For those selected for access. If you filled out bug reports in the past, you're likely to be set up/invited :D Greater invite volume over the next couple weeks I think.

I'm sorry, people actually buy MadCatz keyboards? For $150-$200??

Last I heard, they make some extremely shitty knock off controllers, I had no clue they even made keyboards.

2.0 going LIVE on the PTU tonight! First 1000 people active on the issue council.

For what its worth, I'll withhold final judgment until later. Perhaps CIG has convinced MadCatz to upgrade their keyboards, as they did with building new and different joysticks/HOTAS up to CIG's specs. However, I'll be passing along any issues I see if they seem like typical MadCatz keyboards.

To be fair however, I have to say that MadCatz is capable of making good hardware. Their FightStick Tournament Edition line of peripherals for instance are excellent, well made for enthusiasts etc... it just depends who demands them to keep up.

That is also part of me wanting to pass on getting in on pre orders or even the first run to make sure quality is where it should be.

I'll pass on first orders as well. HOTAS wise I already have a Warthog so the reviews on this would have to come from previous warthog users before I consider Saitek again.

Did they confirm CCUs from the 72 would be possible? If so, they going to move buckets of them. I haven't been able to check on anything today due to work junk.

I'm just keeping watch till the full game comes out myself. Did the original ($35 i think) package that came out ages ago and just do the occasional checking in on the game status every so often.
Do have a X-52 stick and pedals i use for Elite Dangerous so set in the controls department. :D

Other side of the coin; MadCatz makes cheap hardware, on the cheap, giving CR the best return on investment. DISCUSS!

Damn, such bad timing, got called in to work and missed the whole thing. Good karma though 'cause I get tomorrow off and possible the weekend off (instead of being on call) and best of all I just checked my email and got an Overwatch beta invite.

Heading off to watch the twitch livestream vod

They are available already, quick and easy LTI for anyone who wants it :)

*edit

It seems there is at least 1 ship you can't directly CCU to (Redeemer but there may be others) most likely a bug and you can always ccu to something else cheaper and then ccu again to the ship you wanted until they get that fixed :)

Is the Avenger variants not all up for sale? I was planning to ge the warlock and I don't see it when I go to upgrades, just the Avenger stalker shows up (I have a 325a).

There was a price change and I they removed the upgrades, my guess is they need to modify the price on the upgrade options before they are back in the store. I would be surprised if they are not back in sometime tomorrow.

I have been waiting since May 2013 to fly this ship, that is the ship I preordered back then and it is the first ship I took out into the verse.

Well... I did manage to upgrade my 325A to Avenger Titan and all the variants showed up (about 12 hours ago). If they screwed up the prices........

Titan is $50 now, Warlock is $80 if you have LTI on the ship or rather if it's a package get in contact with support. I'm going to guess someone will make an announcement tomorrow that they messed up. If it's just a LTI ship you could easily just grab a P72 and then CCU to a titan (once they put the upgrades back in) rather than wait for support and you may have another $30 left over for a standalone P72 ;)

I'm pretty sure the Avengers, P72 and Crucible will be available until the 29th.

I contacted support. I spend $10 of store credits to basically downgrade my ship (my original game & pledge package ship) to something that's cheaper.

(Supposedly) Confirmed features in the 2.0 alpha so far:

  • Crusader location: 3 Moons, 3 stations, Asteroid belts

  • 1 exploration mission
  • 20+ random encounters
  • 1 on-going asteroid belt battle
  • 1 wreckage to scavange asteroid belt
  • 1 PVP Station
  • Limited to 12-16 ships at once (More players though)
  • Security Post is PVP/FPS (start with pistol) pick up weapons and fight there

Looks like a pretty good start and I look forward to seeing this evolve and add features over the next year.

So what is the deal with this anniversary sale? Is it STILL bugged?

I do not see any of the variants in the upgrade ship area, still just the avenger stalker shows up (as far as new ships/variants go). No titan, no warlock, nothing.

there are no upgrades for the avenger variants, they are modules that they are not selling stand alone yet.

All the avengers are the same avenger, like all the Retaliators use the same base model and just have modules swapped in.

Warlock is an EMP module in the cargo bay, Titan is just an empty cargo module, and i believe the stock Avenger is the one with the cells?

All models use the same base hull, so if you already have an Avenger and want a titan or warlock module you have to wait until those actual modules are up on the store, Ben's reason for them not being up is that all the avengers are flyable but the modules are not set up to be swapped in game yet so they didnt want people buying them thinking they could swap them out in game right away in 2.0. so they are holding off selling those modules until they can be swapped.

it wasnt that big of a deal to sell other modules before they were ready because those ships were not in a flight ready manner where people would want to swap them out right after purchase.

Yeah that sucks. hopefully they can fix it quickly for you. CS is no doubt back logged again...

I see, so it's not like variants of other ships that physically alter them in ways/have different paint schemes, etc?

I was under the impression the warlock was a variant and was also going to be a limited ship.

Are any of these sales going to be limited ships?

Also another question, I was also considering the Cutlass Blue since It seems like a decent inexpensive upgrade from my current 325a.

When the ship goes on sale Saturday (I've never bought anything during past sales) how does one go about buying it? I assume (hope) it will be upgradeable from the 325a but will it be a limited ship or will it be available (with no limited number) for that day it's meant to be on sale?

lastly, how does it compare as far as a fighter goes to the avenger/325a? My main focus is on having a good fighter that can still be able to haul things and/or people.
