BenQ EW2440L monitor. Worth buying for gaming and movies?

So I've seen that it's a pretty good bang for the buck regarding VA monitors (or is this model AMVA?).
Are there any owners of this monitor and is it worth it?

How is the color, contrast ratio and brightness?

Also, I would like to know how the sound performs via headphones. Is the bass/treble ratio good? Bass satisfying enough?

It sucks for a few reasons which aren't worth explaining since there are quite a few superior monitors with VA panels available. Best VA Monitors.

That's quite a strong statement.

It would be really helpful if you could simply state the reasons, as "reasons not worth explaining" is just an empty statement for me :).

PS: The link that you provided actually has the 27 inch version of the same model listed as the best A-MVA panels. How come the 24 inch version sucks so bad?
 
The EW2440L uses a grainy matte coating unlike the others from my thread, and it suffers from significantly reduced colour vibrancy compared to the others since it has a small colour space only capable of covering 84% of the sRGB colour space while the better options can cover 95%+. The EW2440L even has less vibrant colours than many TN panels.

So my best bet would be BenQ GW2470H for a 24" monitor, yes?
In this case, could you please explain what makes this model better than the EW2440L?

Also, if you happen to know anything about the audio quality with the headphones plugged in, could you let me know? I hope it at least has decent amount of bass.

It's better in every way. Review links are available in the thread I made which you can read instead of being lazy. The EW2440L is also linked to and discussed in my Best VA Monitor thread a few times; use the in-thread search function to find the posts if you want to waste your time.

Do you buy a car to fly? Monitor audio performance is always ignored since the built-in speakers and headphone jacks are almost always terrible.

Wow! You really have a way of explaining things in a very rude way.
I did check your post regarding this model way before you even wrote your second post, and the review link (by Playwares) really didn't explain jack. It basically said "WOW, Great monitor!"

And regarding your philosophy about cars that cant' fly, my current 24 inch SyncMaster (which is a 6 year old model), plays superb audio from the headphone jack.
So please kindly spare me your rude attitude and stop spitting assumptions and give me facts.

I really hope someone who actually owns the monitor would give his/her impressions

Stop acting like an entitled brat. If you had bothered to Google reviews to begin with (assuming one understands the technical data/measurements), you would have not needed to create a thread. Instead you expect to be babied and have everything explained to you, even after being linked to my thread which is filled with reviews and discussion about why and why not certain VA panels are included and excluded. Playwares GW2470H review contains all of the relevant information one needs to assess a monitors quality in the measurements, my statement about the GW2407H being better in every way is entirely accurate, and I already partially explained why VA panels in my Best VA Monitor thread are better in post #4. The GW2470H is 30$ cheaper than the EW2440L from Amazon US; make a good decision.

Your post was actually very helpful. Because of you I decided to get the GW2470H.

Also, I really advise you to seek psychological help (anger management would be good). I really care about you and don't want to see suffer from trivial hate and anger :(. Get well soon friend.

BTW. I never did tell you what headphones I use. Don't know where you got the 30$ from. I didn't know you are a psychic as well.... You truly are a fascinating individual my friend :)
 
He is not angry, I just see him as someone that is very picky about monitors and being very blunt about it. Otherwise he is very good source of monitor information.
