DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

This is from the reviewpage that will do the next review of the A4-SFX. They have all the parts together and still waiting for the A4 sample. They will also compare with the L9i in the Review.

An online store finally able to supply it here in Scandinavia.

Well...
They have it on their webpage anyway, but with a note:
Delivery Item: 1-2 months delivery

This might take a while...

I ordered mine from China, took 2 weeks to arrive in Sweden. I used taobao and pasted the link into yoybuy (taobao agent).

Yo, I've been lurking here for a while. Are there any photos of how the 2.5" drives are mounted?

@dondan, I've just discovered your project a few hours ago and I just wanted to say that I love you. I change my living location 4-6 times a year, this is what I've been looking for a long time. That is all :)

I think my ipad LCD thing I posted earlier in this thread will do great with the A4-SFX. :)

I know the Gechic screens, but they're too small.

I have one of this (19,5''):
http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/series/ft0

It isn't very thin, but it has sound output, 2 HMDI connections, and a quick mounting/adjustment stand.

Just waiting for the DAN A4, because the screen and the SG05 doesn't fit both in my cabin luggage!

I guess there are pros and cons. The Gechic weighs less than 800grams. You can theoretically buy two Gechic screens and still get very compact space. But there will be a hole in your wallet.

There's also the AOC line of extremely light and flat screens if you can still find them. They weigh a little more than 2kg.

He's complaining about DisplayLink, not DisplayPort. The former drives many USB-only displays or USB video adapters.

Ah, right.

I'd pushed memories of displaylink out of my mine because It was so terrible. :)

Congratz to Dan for such an amazing project. I've been watching the progress for some time now and have decided to get some parts now before the case comes out.
I have decided to go with this motherboard:
Maximus-VIII-Impact_3D-1_w_600.jpg

I have tried to look for measures of the highest part and could not find it. Anyone knows if this motherboard will fit?

It will fit. But the VRM module will seriously limit your CPU cooling choices.
I have the Impact VI. This looks like the Impact VIII.

The VRM is the same height, but slightly longer as it stretches toward the power connector.

To be fair, the A4 limits cooling choices pretty well as is.

Though lack of daughterboards might let someone throw a oversized fan on or something. (Definitely something I want to try)

Soo can someone confirm that I will be able to order this masterpiece by the end of 2015? I've been throwing my money at the screen for quite a while now.

Here we go again....

I think why he ask is because there aren't many progress updates of what going on, not saying we are in the right to demand such information. Personally I'd be very happy to see some small status updates here and there :)

We just had a progress update, dondan is sending a review sample out to a German magazine and getting another sample back for testing.

Today I will get two new final release samples one is for my reseller and the other for a big German hardware review page.

Edit: I came 3min too late to the custom duty office so I will get it tomorrow.

Yes I know the channel of Linus ;). After the German review is done, one sample will go to US. PCPerspective will get it. I will ask Linus if he is interested in testing it after them.
By the way if my deal works with the reseller I don't need a crowdfunding campaign, because they ship worldwide.

There should be a warning for Linus' videos - the way he opens every video is obnoxious as hell.

I attempted to overlay an image of the Cryorig C7 onto that Asus motherboard.

The SupremeFX module might interfere with a low-profile cooler unless it's removable.

oh wow, that sounds like great news. Hope it goes well Dan.

So if you forgo the crowdfunding campaign, presumably these could be in our hands faster than Feb-March of next year? Would you save a month of time not going that route?

Hey Dondan, I was wondering if you could tell me how hard it was to install the Silverstone SFX-L psu with the cables plugged in? I'm thinking of waiting for the 600w version of this psu. Worst comes to worst, hopefully the Corsair sfx 600w fairs better than the Silverstone's 600w.

Good news Dondan about the reseller. Hope it will end well.

The new Silverstone PSU, this is a 700W PSU, not 600W. I am waiting for it as well.

As for the M8I, the scale seems off. Cryorig C7 is 97mm wide and respect Intel "Safe zone" so it should fit on any board as i think they have to respect this safe zone.

Here is my "not perfect" attempt :

He would certainly save some time by not having to create and maintain the crowdfunding, however he still has to found DAN Cases and do all the legal stuff with waste regulations and all that. Moreover, Lian Li has to manufacture all those cases in time.

That said I would be quite happy really holding an A4 in my hands by March :)

You should send SPCR a sample too. They were a community building SFF/media PCs before it became mainstream, so I'm sure they'll put your case through the wringer. They have an anechoic chamber and measure temperatures of multiple components and power consumption, plus noise levels at several different fan speed configurations. So they're truly hardcore about balancing noise with performance :D

They also did a thorough build review of the N1 (despite some cooling compromises that had to be made), so they'll do whatever it takes to make a silent high-performance SFF case work.

Excellent news for the reseller, and I'm glad to hear PCPer will get to test it out, their reviews are well done and detailed, compared to Linus' reviews which IMO aren't so great, at least for cases.

Dimitri of HardwareCanucks does excellent case reviews though.
