Windows 10 compatible version is out. Just enabled and seemed to use 1 GB.

Modern Windows already caches frequently/recently used files to RAM. This is why RAM utilization is high when people go to check on it. RAPID seems like duplicate functionality from Samsung just to boost benchmark scores.

Works awesome for hyper-v guests on my workstations!

This article explains the distinction between the two:

"Samsung’s Drive Magician also offers RAPID (Real-time Accelerated Processing of I/O Data) mode. In Rapid Mode, the drive reserves a slice of system memory and uses it to cache frequently accessed data and files. Windows Superfetch has done something similar since Windows Vista, but there’s a key distinction — Superfetch only caches reads, while Rapid Mode can cache both reads and writes."

Both that article (about the Samsung 850 Pro) and this older one (about the 840 EVO) warn that RAPID does make the SSD more vulnerable to data loss due to a crash or power loss with uncommitted (non-flushed) writes in the DRAM cache. Either a UPS or a laptop with battery power can mitigate the power loss hazard but not the crash hazard.

I have never been able to tell the difference with it on other than running a benchmark. All I see is increased risk of data loss with no real world benefit so I will pass.
