Yep shows error on verification screen for last 4 digits of card and zip code.

Thanks for the heads up - will get one for me and one for the wife too since we have separate accounts, if it ever isn't slammed that is. :)

(had mentioned a B&M location but this is an online only coupon code for use with BestBuy.com... for those that might not realize it) DOH!!!

It does say bestbuy.com but the email they send sure looks like a best buy GC complete with barcode for retail use

and slickdeals just put it on their front page so the site is going to be destroyed for rest of day

It's seriously insane how the fast the fucktards at SD manage to kill deals.

The bottleneck seems to be visa talking to bestbuy on the backend.

So what I did was first register directly on https://checkout.visa.com (in the middle where it says sign up)

Once you are already registered and logged in on checkout.visa.com you can get much further on the original link

https://checkout.visa.com/campaign/us/en/nfl-game-day-deals/index.jsp

but it will still fail with the circle of death at the end where it asks for the last 4 + 3

that fail is not because of your card or wrong numbers, it is failing because the best buy backend is not responding

So SD crushed bestbuy, not visa

What's wierd is it is not coming back an hour later, even when no-one is getting through

Maybe the best buy server people slept in for DST

Visa Checkout itself is down, you can't checkout using Visa Checkout on newegg right now.

Finally went through for me, just got the email with a link to the code.

Nothing here, I'm giving up on it for a while, the SlickDeals thread just keeps growing at a few posts a minute with the same issues. If it works later, great, if not no harm no foul I suppose.

And they just removed the offer, it seems - it was stated as being valid as long as it was posted on that link in the OP and now it's not so, there goes that idea. ;)

Don't close your browser tab if you still have the offer up or are in the middle of signing in to Visa Checkout on that promotional page!

I was able to get it to work just now, an hour after it was declared dead. I was also able to use the back button to get the offer for my wife's account as well.

Places shouldn't put stuff up if they can't handle the load. I've tried all day and haven't been able to sign up.

got mine about 45 min ago.

Update: Bought a new humidifier for $12.46 shipped after $20 credit.

If it weren't for those 'fucktards', you probably wouldn't know about the deal. ;)

That's true to a certain degree, but there are SDers who get extra greedy and go overboard with it. One person on the SD forums was gloating about how he had 30 promo codes and another with 15.

I guess the real problem is with Visa Checkout though. They should find a way to limit the code to one credit card number per account. Yes, there will still be some who have multiple credit cards, but not likely 30 or even 15.

That's a major problem with these kinds of deals in today's world: human greed and stupidity. Like recently when the iPhone 6S/6S Plus went on sale you just knew that the moment it did people would be lining up for days ahead of time not for the purpose of actually getting one to make use of. They were buying them strictly for the purpose of reselling them immediately at highly marked up pricing - there was a news story here in Las Vegas where one extended family of like 27 people were in line at one of the Apple Stores and they freely admitted they were buying them for the purpose of reselling them back to someone in their home country somewhere in east Asia. They were PROUD of it, smiling the whole time too.

Take Black Friday for example: a few weeks from now retailers will have incredible sales of all kinds of products, and you can bet that roughly 25% of it or more will end up on craigslist/eBay/etc within 24 hours at marked up pricing. Missed out on that 50" HDTV from Fry's that sold for $399 out the door? Get it for a great price at only $599 on craigslist/eBay/etc and we'll even deliver it free (or so the ad will state). I find it irritating to high degrees but the world at large simply doesn't give a shit.

I mean, I appreciate the opportunity to get that $20 coupon but obviously since I heard about it like 2 hours after it was announced, I knew going in that I'd stand the proverbial snowball's chance in Hell of actually getting one and after an hour or so of semi-repeated attempts I just gave up on it entirely.

The days of people being happy to get a deal on an item on sale at some crazy reduced price are long long gone: now the first instantaneous reaction is "Wow, that's cheap as shit, I should buy <x amount of said item> and then offload it for a major profit on craigslist/eBay/etc and make some quick cash on stupid people that don't know better..."

I wish someone could tell me I'm wrong with that POV but I don't think anyone can. :(

Well Tiberian, if it's wrong to buy something, mark it up, and sell it to someone else, then every store you've ever bought from is evil.

If you're purposely scamming someone, that's a bit different. You have to be really careful how you judge everyone. For instance, those phone people might have been buying phones and making $100 on each one. For some people, that $100 will eliminate a lot of hardships. Also, what if everyone else in China was charging $200 above retail for the phone?

Point is not to bash you or anything, but to just promote thinking about the different situations people are in; and their motivations.

Listen, I get how you feel I really do. I feel this way myself sometimes, but we live in an opportunistic society. This is exactly how people succeed here, not by being nice. I think it is fine to not like it, but we also have to recognize how it really works and accept that.

Personally i think of it like this; if you are willing to stand in line and do whatever is needed to get these deals then more power to you. I will pay extra to not have to ever deal with any of that.

Best path to success is learn the rules and use them to your advantage.

yea i see no reason to complain about that either zaniix.. I think that is kinda stupid to complain about it. I personally would never wait in line for something on black Friday because the savings I would receive would not be worth it to me. That is also why I don't buy a lot in stores either because even if I have 10 more dollars to get it on line. The actual trip to the store would probably cost me 10 dollars in mileage and take my time.

guess what that 100 dollars Kuromizu...that hardship they maybe in...why the fuck are they buying an iPhone if 100 bucks can break the bank?

Does it work in store? Might have been answered already but I'm in that morning haze in between coffee sips.

How can you sit there and judge people for reselling/trying to make a profit? Back in my college days I used Black Friday and deals like this to make some extra cash cause I was broke af. What do you know about that family besides that fact they were reselling iphones? Were they going through hardships and trying to make some extra money? Would you call me greedy for trying to make some extra money when I was in college and didn't make enough with my part time job? Never mind the fact that I woke up at 4 am and stood in line for 2 hours in cold weather. But I'm greedy for doing all that work and trying to make a few extra bucks huh?

PS. Don't mean go to off topic. I am kinda sad I missed out on this deal.

This deal is alive again, but good luck getting through
