Also comes with either the new AssCreed or Rainbow Six. I could care less for either, so there's another $20-30 from selling the code.

With all the deals lately, can't help but wonder if Nvidia's pascal cards will be hitting in early Q2 (or some new AMD hotness?). Tempted to hold off buying till then, but between now and April, there's a lot of games I'll be playing that could use an upgrade from my old-ass Asus gtx 670. My list includes:

~ Fallout 4
~ Dark Souls 3
~ The Witness
~ XCOM 2
~ Witcher 3 dlc
~ Deus Ex Mankind Divided
~ Tom Clancy's The Division (aww who am I kidding, it'll be delayed again)

~maybe Just Cause 3
~probably not buying an Oculus or Vive at launch, unless the killer app appears, but if so gtx 970 meets Oculus system reqs.

not a bad deal, definitely should consider one of the 390/290 deals though, although the games with it are a good deal

You can get the Gigabyte 390 Gaming 8gb for $268 shipped on Jet right now.

You guys got any links for those? Just checked jet (never used the site b4), and I did look around for 290x/390 but didn't see any better deals (I'm only looking for new cards, won't buy used but refurbished would perhaps be doable for the right price). Was planning on ordering the gtx 970 from newegg in the morning and picking up from will call tomorrow. Not in a rush since I can wait another week or so till Fallout 4 releases.

edit: nvm, I think I see the Gigabyte 390 gaming. It's with the 20% off coupon. Final price shipped is $275 which is awesome. Jet also sells the gtx 970 for the same price, but I think I'd take the 390 w/ its 8GB for better future proofing over the next 2-3 years. The 390's ~100-140w extra under load adds up to about ~$10-15/yr more vs owning the less power hungry gtx 970. Close to the same performance with the evga's overclock.

edit 2: realized the $268 for a radeon 390 was after removing the free return shipping option at jet. DAMN tempting, geezus. Thing is, the 390s on jet.com (or the gtx 970s) don't come with a free game (the new AssCreed or Rainbow 6), and I can easily sell those for $30 which makes the prices a near-draw with newegg. The radeon 390 models jet is selling also don't review well (jet's gigabyte 970 looks solid tho), whereas the evga 970 in the op garners great owner feedback. I can also pick up items from newegg will call since my g/f works close by, whereas I'll have to wait for it to arrive (not a big deal) from jet.com.

Glad ya'll alerted me to another option and maybe someone else will take advantage, but I'm sticking with the evga deal in the op.

So very tempting to replace my GTX 570...

edit: ...and it's done. Minimum vram requirements for Fallout 4 is 2GB so time to say goodbye to the 570.

I'm picking one up to replace my GTX680. I run a 30" monitor so this may help a bit with double the memory and overclocking. Thanks for the post.

This is a good deal on a 970, but I have to think waiting 2-3 weeks and it will be even cheaper!

I ordered since I'm building a new rig. Great short term card until Pascal launches next year.

Do you need a space heater, do you like listening to loud fans, do you like having your gpu throttle, do you like having drivers produced by someone who probably works part time at a burger king? Then absolutely go for a 290/390 card. I have had a number of AMD/ATI cards but I sold my 7950 which seemed like an awesome deal like this but all of what I was paranoid about was confirmed. I sold the card bought a gtx 660 (gave to a friend) then a 760. The AMD 7950 in theory was faster than the GTX 660 but its like saying a maxima will beat a civic sure, but not if 4 of 6 cylinders aren't firing properly. I'll take the one I know will give me a consistent experience. Stay away from powercolor whatever you do.

Black Friday is overrated. You may or may not find a hot deal on a particular item on that date, but retailers have definitely learned to offer some of their best deals before BF so they can wrap up consumer $$ w/o having to viciously compete in a race-to-the-bottom vs amazon/walmart/bb/newegg/etc.

I've already ebay'd the game code for the difference to bring it down to $250.

I just sold my code here so it ended up being $250 overall. I also ordered the the EVGA backplate for $20 on Amazon since my OCD kicked in so everything ended up being $270.
