It seems that as a thank you for putting up with the launch issues that plagued the PC port of Batman: Arkham Knight, Steam will be giving copies of all of the previous titles in the franchise to you for FREE.

All that's required is that you have already purchased Batman: Arkham Knight for your Steam library, or that you purchase it before November 17th.

Straight from today's update in the Steam store:

"Greetings Batman: Arkham Fans!

The PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight is back up and available today! We are genuinely thankful to the Batman: Arkham fans, the Steam Batman: Arkham Community, and the PC Players who have patiently waited for this day. As a show of our appreciation to our fans in this process, we are pleased to announce three community focused programs to help us commemorate the re-launch of the game.

To kick things off, we will be giving away FREE digital copies of games from the Batman: Arkham library. This means we will be giving away copies of Batman: Arkham Asylum GOTY, Batman: Arkham City GOTY, Batman: Arkham Origins, and Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate. The Batman: Arkham library of games will be given to everyone who has already purchased or will purchase Batman: Arkham Knight for PC prior to 11:59 pm PDT, November 16, 2015. We’re actively working with our partners at Valve to make this happen as soon as we can, so watch your Steam Library. We are aiming to deliver all of the games by December.

Seeing as our community was a great help in getting the game up and running, Rocksteady will be creating a new "Community Challenge Pack” that will be given free to owners of the Batman: Arkham Knight game in January 2016. As thanks to the Steam Community, PC players will have access to the maps for a week before they hit the consoles. Stay tuned for more details on this in the Batman: Arkham Community and Social Channels. "

Now I have no idea if those of us who already own all of those games anyway will be given extra giftable copies or not.

I also don't know if copies of Arkham Knight purchased outside of the Steam store will be eligible for this promotion.

But it's still a heck of a deal.

It's not worth $50 to take the risk that it will work like shit like it seems to for several people still. Don't reward WB for half-assing the relaunch.

Whats funny is that I already have all the original Batm'n games, I have yet to even install a single one....

Warner Bros is the worst.. They should've offered SOME if not all dlc for free to those who purchased their broken shit show of a release. Instead customers received exactly nadda, nothing.

What enormous ++++s.

This offer is a slap in the face.
1) most of the people who bought Arkham Knight already has all the previous games.
2) they still ask full price for it, and a season pass price too.

Realistically they should have either bundled the season pass into the current price, or lowered the price for an 4 months old game. But no, they are still too greedy. Well, then i will wait until the game drops to 20 euros for the version with all the DLCs.

I think Warner Bros is doing a good job of trying to make amends. They could do better sure, but a helluva lot of other companies have done worse (see Alien Colonial Marines)

Like kirbyrj is saying, you might wanna give 'em a shot.

Arkham Asylum is probably the best super hero game ever made (so far), and fantastically good. Seriously, if you don't like Asylum, either you're not in the mood (happens to all of us) or you just don't like video games. Those 90+ metacritic scores (on all platforms no less) are legit.

I wasn't too fond of Arkham City. A good game yes, but the move towards open world gameplay killed the tightly focused nonstop thrills found in Asylum. I haven't touched the series since, been there done that.

Didn't play Origins, but I could smell the dookie before it launched, and my friends who actually bought it confirmed Origins was rather mediocre.

Bottom Line: play Asylum man, you owe it to yourself. You are the Batman!

Origins is much greater than Arkham City IMO. Rough launch but after some patches it was cool. Honestly the biggest complaint about Origins I hear are the Riddler trophies aren’t as fun to collect. Pfft! I don’t have time for that so wouldn’t know.

I ran Arkham Knight fine after that last previous PC patch. Some framerate drops during the more active Batmobile scenes but nothing that made me want to put the game down. Great game, sorry so many are having difficulties with it.

I bought the game on Cdkeys for 15$ with the DLC. I thought the game looked good and figured why not. Since I just added it to my Steam library, I wonder if I get a free game.

I wonder, will NV promo code copies of Batman redeemed in steam be eligible as well? I would think so.....

Cool so if I pay full price for this new Batman I get all the ones I already own? AWESOME DEAL THX.

ROFL... Played it on console myself, maybe I'll pick it up at $5 later or something.

Give it a try and let us know. I'm also wondering if games bought with nvidia promo codes work

At the bottom of their message, they said if you own a copy of batman or purchase it before November 16, you get the other games for free.

Based on that, I assume the nvidia promotion is included.

I got mine through Nvidia so I hope thats the case.

Good games but you can probably get a discounted code for the game on GMG or whatever and all 3 previous games in a Steam/Holiday sale for less than full MSRP.

Arkham Knight runs great since the update last month, and is actually a really enjoyable game. The only thing I don't care for that much is a bit too much driving.

If I didn't already own it because of a free nvidia key, I would wait for a $5 steam sale.

I got all the previous games for $5 each ages ago, this is hardly a big incentive to buy AK now. I'll probably buy it later when it's cheap after I've finished playing all the new games about to come out.

Two steam sales are coming up (Halloween sale this weekend) so I'd wait for those before buying this for $50.

Still want confirmation if it has to be purchased directly from Steam or not. I'll get it at cdkeys if not. I have the.first two GOTY editions so need the other games. If I can get them all for $15 it's a good deal.

Only finished the first game, the combat is way to repetitive to even bother picking up the other games.

Eh, Ive played it for about 5 hours now. I've got my 15 bucks worth and am still gonna play it until it gets old. I am enjoying it and I don't really like third person games.

Is there a specific date this is supposed to happen? How do we redeem the other games, or will they just magically appear one day?

From what I've read they will automatically be added to your Steam library... I could be wrong though. :)

Can confirm, I got my batman game through the nvidia promotion and I got all the games today and they are downloading on steam as I type this.

i bought my copy of arkham knight on g2a for 13 bucks and they just gave me all the rest of the batman games for FREE. So for me its a huge win.

Yep, gone mine at that price from cdkeys as well, but I already own all the Batman games.

Except this Origins Blackgate Deluxe? Anyone played it? Worth playing? Never even heard of it. Still working my way through AK currently, and loving it.

That's the problem with these "deals"... usually they are not giftable and the extra copies disappear into the void. Unfortunately, deals like this are just money-grab shenanigans at best and insulting at worst.

Does anybody know if they fixed whatever it was in the first one that cause motion sickness for some people? I dont know if it could even be fixed i just know arkham asylum made me extremely nauseous.

Weird... I never had that problem with Arkham Asylum or City (Haven't played Origins or Knight yet), and I'm usually the most susceptible person ever to motion sickness in games. For instance the original Bioshock made me violently ill within ten minutes of playing it. Something about the FOV being geared more towards console players. Thankfully someone came up with a fix for it or I'd never have been able to continue playing it!

Here you go! Did a little research for ya!

open: Documents\Square Enix\Batman Arkham Asylum GOTY\BmGame\Config\BmInput.ini

add: Bindings=(Name="F7",Command="fov 100")

Replace 'F7' with any other key you'd like to bind to. Save the file.

Now just remember to hit this key to change the FOV whenever you play. (since it's not a permanent change)

This works for just about everyone who gets motion sickness in the game. This changes the FOV from the more console like 88 to 100 like PC gamers are used to.

Be aware that a few people have reported that the altered FOV sometimes presents problems with certain puzzles. If that happens to you just save the game and reload without changing the FOV until you finish the puzzle in question.

Hope it helps! :)

Tried the FOV change years ago, no dice. It has something to do with the movement in this game i believe. Only 2 games have ever given me this issue, this and HL2. And i tried DAMN hard to play through HL2.

Weird how some people are affected different ways.

For me the absolute worst offenders have been Bioshock (without the FOV fix) and the original Doom. Oh GOD I remember making myself SO fucking sick when the original Doom came out in 1994, but I couldn't stop myself playing it because it was just so damn cool and different at the time. Textured floors and ceilings? WHOAH!

I think what got me in Doom was the fact that the field-of-view actually moves up and down while walking, it's supposed to give the illusion of the head motion of an average person walking along. What the developers failed to realize is that our brain filters that out naturally - when it's forced upon you in a videogame things get really dicy.

But I'm going off on a tangent..... I'm old so I'm allowed. :D

Head bob in some games can make me sick but in all the games i have played that do that theres an option to turn it off. Minecraft takes about 5 minutes to make me sick with its awful head bob.
