Hello everyone,

I am looking to see if anyone has experience with or opinions of 'Platinum Tools' products. I lent out my network cable tools to someone, or managed to lose them in the process of a move, so I have no idea where they are. I am fairly certain they were lent and not returned, as I still have my Coax tools.

I am not an install pro or anything like that, just a hobbyist. I plan to get our house wired at some point, but other projects have been keeping me very busy, and the funding tied up. In the next year I will likely begin the project. I also get asked by friends and family to pull a cable once in a while.

This is what I am looking at to just replace the tools I have lost:
Platinum Tools 90203 Premier DATA Connectivity Kit, w/Zip Case

Additionally, I had a Paladin Tools cable tester like this one lost as well:
Paladin Tools 1574 LAN Cable Check

I am looking at something like this to replace it. I know it is more expensive, but the ability to have multiple cables tested with those cable testers and the cable ID's, would have been GREAT to have when I wired my last house.

Platinum Tools T129K1 Vdv Mapmaster 2.0 Tester Kit
Platinum Tools T139 Smart Remote Kit with Remotes 2-8.

I don't need something top of the line for professional installation, I just don't want to buy something that is garbage. I have learned in the past that it is MORE expensive to buy cheaply made garbage tools than it is to invest in a good quality set.

Thank you!!

Their stuff is ok for light use. Would not recommend for a professional installer but you should be fine with it.

I have the Platinum Tools EZ crimpers and Connectors, and got spoiled by it LOL. It was so easy, I don't think I can ever use any other type
