That Supreme FX daughterboard looks like a potential problem for air coolers.

Any idea what that plug is between the Supreme FX and the WiFi antenna plugs?

Not innovative at all.
Instead if making room on the board for cool stuff they just put it on top of it instead.
Cramped is what it is.

Wont have to worry about low height RAM getting in the way the daughter boards will do that for you now :D

Don't know what that plug is BIOS maybe

It's the U.2 plug for fast, but not yet widely available PCIe SSD drives. However the board lacks a much more common m.2 slot for this purpose.

Oh ok and it's facing straight up, bit of a bitch of a place to have it but I suppose there is no where else for it to go

I am personally waiting for/interested in the little cousin of this board, the Asus Z170i Pro Gamer, I saw this one and it didn't catch my eye like the VII initially did.

Has anyone seen any information as to when/if this board will be released for the US? The M8i was availalbe on Newegg the day Asus unveiled it, but after seeing images of the 170i for several weeks, pus it being on the Asus site, still no sign of it for sale here.

That is indeed a pretty nice board, I can really see myself using that if I made a Skylake build. The only really small issue I've got with it is the position of the CPU power connector. Having that next to the ATX24pin connector would be a little bit nicer for cable management.
And a C-Type connector would be nice.
But that's it. That's all I've got to criticise. Everything else is pretty much just how I'd want it to be.
