evga b stock 970 gtx 259 , 980 369

I picked up a 980Ti last night..see how much a improvement it will be over my 780SLI setup.

2 780's will be for sale soon...hopefully.

Got mine in (970 SSC ACX 2.0+) and stable at 1,479 core / 3,758 (7,516) mem at stock volts / power target 115%. Peaking temps about 79 degrees on stock fan profile. Probably could benefit with some airflow on the back of the card and/or a backplate. $265 shipped.

nice. I ordered the same and hopefully id get similar result. Do you have to register the card thru EVGA to get the 1 year warranty?

Wow, my 980 is already here.
I ordered at 3pm yesterday. It came from SoCal and not Bay area like I thought.

Missed out on the 980ti. BAH!!!!! Seeing that I am at 1440p, not a huge loss, but wanted to future-proof. I'll grab a regular 980.

Received my GTX 770 classified 4gb "impulse purchase" this evening. Just doing some testing on it now. 3D Mark and Heaven. Seems to be fully functional. Kind of a big card, but not as big as I expected (and I coulda had a kingpin!). The 770 is a good match for my IB 3470, though. I might try OC'ing it some time, but the current version of PrecisionX doesn't seem compatible.

I was kind of hoping I'd get lucky and receive one with a backplate. The circuit boards on these Kepler era EVGA's leave a bit to be desired asthetically... so if anyone has a backplate they'd like to donate or sell... :)

Same here. I ended up buying a new 980ti, if I had made up my mind and acted quicker I could have saved $100. Live and learn.

If it makes you feel better, the 980 Ti's in B-Stock are 100% refurbs since there is no 980 Ti step-up... And of course, 1 year warranty.

It does not. That $100 could have gone towards a nice bottle of Laphroaig or Lagavulin :D

They show up new on Jet for $590-$600 every few weeks, so I guess that will make you feel even worse.

I had no idea evga had a GT 740 FTW lol. (Looking at their B-stock.)

I think the 980ti acx 2 are 639 on newegg.... you guys want to grab em or talk me out of them

damn, that 780 sc for 150..

Yeah, and I missed out on the GTX 780 Ti Kingpin a week or so ago for $180, so I settled for the GTX 970 @ $249 late last night (didn't go for the 980 since I'll probably be getting whatever is better from AMD/NVIDIA w/HBM2 next year). The GTX 690 they had for $249 was a pretty good deal, too ...

Wow, they dropped the B-stock 760 from $260 to $99, that's more like it. Sold out.

I like the private sellers these days, maybe due to this b-stock pressure. $360 980 FTW edition in a For Sale/Trade thread with their rep on the line? Wow. 970s pretty close to b-stock. One year of use won't wear them out.

So, if you currently have a 290, is it worth the purchase of the 980 or just hold out for the next round? Or get a second 290?

I don't think so. Coming from using both two different 980 GTXs and a few different 290s I ended up settling on crossfiring 290s. Why? Because two 290s cost the same as one 980

I would say the opposite in that I switched from two 290x cards to a single 980gtx and got very similar results. But I was only running at 2560x1440 60p and they were refrence cads with the blowers. With that being said I really think a single 290 will pretty much get the job done too. Are you trying to go 4k/144hz or having performance issues? In that case I would either hold out for pascal or 980ti cards to get more memory.

got a 970 SSC ACX 2.0+...... Didn't need a new card :O. Good deal though IMO. Does this mean I should build a whole new rig lol

It was probably mine. I just sent one in on a step up. It was mint with all the retail fixings still in the packages. Not a spec of dust . They could have sold it new. It ran great!

still wanting a 970, but those 670GTX @$29 would make some nice backup rig gpus. Better than a 750TI and almost on par with a 760 from what I recall.

Holy crap! I have a Windforce GTX 670 in my rig right now. If I could ad another for $30 and do SLI, that would be awesome!

Are any of those cheaper cards better than my old HD7970 3GB?

Have not bought new PC parts since 2010 and am still running a [email protected] with a 570 GTX. Seriously tempted to get something on this site, having the hardest time deciding. Anything from the $30 670 to the $380 980 are considerations. Problem is that all of the games I play run pretty well on my rig. I thought Star Wars: Battlefront would do me in, but it is amazingly very smooth and looks great at 1440p on medium with my current rig

Bought the 34" samsung off of woot a couple weeks ago and battlefront just shat all over my trusty old 5870. Hopefully this 980 superclocked does me well.
