Check your Lowe's store.

They got a ton of tools 60-70% off.

I scooped up a bunch of stuff for ceramic and drywall work for a song and a dance.

Might not be the highest quality, but if you're just a DIY'er it won't matter too much.

You can search online and then check instore inventory that way.

Hint, if you pay with a gift card and then put the balance on your Lowes card, you get 5% additional savings on the entire lot.

Here's what I did to make the deal sweeter. Own an iPhone with Apple Pay? I bought a Lowe's gift card @ Meijer, $25, they're giving 10% cashback till 12/31/15 on Apple Pay purchases, so got the gift card for $22.50, they're doubling the cash back I get for the first 12 months, so $20 for $25 card then :)

Then another 5% with the Lowe's card on the full $25 gift card applied amount, ends up being $18 for $25 worth of stuff. A healthy discount on anything you purchase @ Lowe's that way.

Where are you located just for a heads up for locals in your area. I was going to run and take some things back before reading this while my fiance is in a meeting but traffic is nuts today. While waiting for my fiances meeting to end I ran across the street to the worst Kroger I've been in (Fielder/303 in Arlington, TX) just to kill some time. Maybe I'll make it to Lowes tomorrow morning.

Slickdeals thread says Discover won't give you 10% cashback on gift cards. Sweet deal anyway, but FYI

Almost anything on Pioneer Pkwy is the worst in Arlington. Although that side is better then by 360.

But if you haven't been there, there is any interesting store on Pioneer called Electronic Discount. It's not a great store by any means, but it's fun to look at all the old stuff they have.

Thanks Op, I'll check it out. Haven't been to the BLUE store in quite some time.

Last I knew several months ago that place was having a going out of business sale.

This has been going on for a while. All the stores in my area are out.

I need more toolboxes for more tools... but I don't have room for toolboxes :(

Just bought another box the other night. Got tired of having my tools downstairs all the time so I bought another box for the garage. I have duplicates of most things so it's time to organize.

Caught some similar savings in the plumbing and hardware areas several months ago. $8 copper fittings for 10 cents each. $9 hinges for 25 cents. The only difference between the old fitting and the new fitting was the Lowes stock #. Same brand and mfg#. The hinges may have been a legit discontinued closeout. Apparently, their inventory software can't handle having two Lowes # for the same item so anything with a discontinued stock # goes, even if the actual item is a current stock item.

Haven't been able to check here but I imagine there probably isn't anything on sale here in Hawaii, there never is...

The order I placed, they had a few items that were not in stock even though the online system said they were. So you have to at least be willing to add to cart and see what happens on your store side of things.

Likewise you could go instore, but why bother when you can just check all the prices online, load up the cart and go.

As far as the 10% not on gift cards, I mixed it in with $170 in groceries, so I'm betting it'll skate by.

can never have enough tools

This, I even started a tool board in the basement, have two small tool boxes in the closet. Have a peg board, cabinet, and full rolling toolbox, all full. Then there is a collection for the truck and for the 4 wheeler. I do need another tool box.

I would say I have enough tools.
