Looks like a great deal to me. You just have to configure the card so the fans do not shut off because this is not unique to this card alone. However, I just upgraded my cpu and mainboard so, not ready for this at this time. (R9 290 Reference at the moment.)

Is there a specific reason this is necessary or just a suggestion? Just wanted to make sure there isn't an issue regarding fan speed regulation that I haven't heard about.

Mostly, I have just heard cards with the fans turned off tend to have high idle temps.
