Hello,

I need help/advice on what to do about the random crashes I have been experiencing for a while. My setup is listed below:

ASUS Maximus VII Hero
Core i7-4790k
MSI GeForce GTX 980 Gaming
Samsung 850 EVO SSD
2x8192 MB DDR3 2400 MHz CL10 (F3-2400C10D-16GTX)
Corsair RM850 Gold - 850w
Corsair K70 RGB
Logitech G502

I built the computer in the spring this year. Ever since I've had issue with random crashes where the computer powers off. There is no BSOD before it happens. I've run several stress tests on both CPU and GPU and temps are not an issue. I've RMA'ed the PSU at Corsair who based on my story swapped the PSU. Nothing changed though after installing a new one.

I also ran over 8 hours worth of memtest to test my ram and encountered the following two issues:

Error: F481660 - f4813cb

Error: 14c637c - 14c63c21

I reported this to Gskill who mentioned that an RMA was not required.

I should mention that the poweroff can happend regardless of load - i.e. it happens while idle aswell. Sometimes after 1 hour, sometimes after 5 and some days I dont see it happen at all.

I don't have any other spare parts to test with, so I would appreciate any advice on what to do from here.

You are probably going to need to use process of elimination to see what is causing this.

What if you run memory at 2133 without any overclocking, does memtest pass?

Turn your memory clock as far down as you can. Run it at 1600mhz to see if that helps. Could GSkill comment any further on the codes you gave them? If anyone knows memory issues it'd be them lol

What is your cpu cache ratio set to? I would guess it is autodetected too high.
Have you tried lowering it to say 42 or 43 @ stock volts (think it is 1.150)

Cpu memory controller SOMETIMES needs a voltage adjustment for higher speed memory, you might or might not have gone through this with gskill.
I dont have the link anymore but there was a gskill forum thread that recommended adding an offset to the memory controller if auto adjust wasnt enough
SA + .036
IOa + .018
IOd + .018

@Unstableone - I'll try lowering the cpu cache and run with it for a while.

@Ryan - No, they just asked me if I was running other app's while performing the tests -.-

@diizzy - I've havn't run any other tests on the memory as of yet. I only took my results to G.Skill to have them look at it.

Thx for your input
