2TB Samsung Evo SSD: $699 + ship

Interesting to see these exist.

But isn't it safer to have two 1TB SSD @ $250 each

It has by far been the dumbest purchase I have ever made. Other than a much faster boot time, its not even really very noticeable. I fell for the hype. lol

715 on Amazon...so it's better than that, but Amazon.com has the advantage of being up ;)
I'm actually interested in moving my desktop to all SSD, but I'll wait and see what happens in November. Maybe these will drop to 600.

Newegg has been off and on this week. I am trying to order some fans from there not but its a no go for the last hour.

I noticed a big difference with an SSD as main drive. This was like 4 years ago though. Modern Windows is a lot more aggressive with caching commonly used apps to RAM so as far as loading apps go, you might not notice a huge difference if you've got a lot of RAM in your PC I suppose.

I also just bought a second 1TB SSD for my VMs, really makes a huge difference there.

They've been down for 3 hours (maybe more). I considered picking up a video card form them, but just went with Amazon. Don't think I would have saved anything.
