So how bad did my impulsiveness screw me up?

I just purchased two of these for $743 after tax and shipping. I want to use them as monitors and it keeps me from buying a tv tuner card lol.

They don't seem to be bad monitors for the money. Anyone else purchased one yet? Like/dislike? Am I going to regret this?

If that tv can really do 120hz @4k resolution I would buy one just to play with. It says it has 3x hdmi, but does't say what version. Can HDMI 2.0 even do 4k past 60hz?
The first Seiki 4k tv's seemed to be pretty popular for their price. You will have to share your impressions once they come in.

I will. I got one for me and one for my brother. I think they are 1080 at 120hz and 4k at 60 or 30hz depending on where you look. I thought all 4k was at 30hz as a form factor thing but ultimately there does not seem to be any real form factor setup at this level yet.

I am now questioning if his computer will push this monitor very well. Or mine for that matter. He has a 4590 with a nvidia 670 2gb on windows 10. I have a 4770 non k with a nvidia 960 2gb on mint 17. I don't really game outside of diablo 3, civ 5, and Ai Wars so I think I will be ok regardless.

Read the reviews on Amazon. 4K@30Hz only as it does not have HDMI 2.0 or HDCP 2.2. I would cancel if you can. You're better off with one of the Korean 40" import. At least those will do 4K@60Hz at 4:4:4

That's a fair point. What would you recommend?

I have 3 of the 50 inch versions of these that I run side by side. Great panels if you like 120hz and a big display. Not great if you're a pixel junkie. Install the firmware from the 50 inch version and make a custom resolution of 120hz@1080p before you judge them. Running these screens at 4K is plain ugly and slow.

It's the original gangster cheap 4K monitor sized "TV"

Great for 1080p 120Hz or slow content 4k (Excel, coding, web, office) but at this point it needs to be something like $200. Saving grace is it does 1080p 120hz where by some strange occurrence the gen 2 cheap sets cant.

I would rather get two Korean monitors that at least pull 60hz in 4k off DP or DVI. HDMI is for consoles bruh :p

So are there any ~40" 4k@60hz tv/monitors for <$400 available?

I really have a hard time dropping $700-$800 on a tv/monitor that doesn't bring me beer and periodically offer bj's.

The Korean 40" will set you back about $520 each but it will be so much better than the Sekei and more future proof. Price have gone up quite a bit in the last 2 months. They were in the $4XX range when I was looking at them a few months ago.Search for Crossover 404K on ebay.

The Hisense 50H7GB(1) is $548 at Walmart if you are looking for a non import. Though I have not seen definitive proof on if newer revisions or firmware ever fixed the 60Hz frame dropping and input lag.

Those are pretty nice, I just am simply not willing to drop $600 on a single monitor when I don't code or do graphics for a living.

How about Crossover 288k

28" monitor seems more usable for day to day stuff than 40" anyway. Although that 40" would be nice for watching movies and such haha.

All the 28" 4K uses TN panels and the colors doesn't compares to IPS or PVA on the 32" and 40"+
