Hi all,

I've recently built a new machine and wanted to get one of the NVIDIA SLI GTX bridges to add some finishing touches, however none of the spacing options seem to fit the way my cards are positioned. I'm using the specifications provided by the motherboard manufacturer, which I thought they have to adhere to from NVIDIA?

Motherboard: ASRock Extreme7+
VGA: 2x MSI Reference 980Ti

Picture below shows the machine and the spacing and the nvidia website (here) shows the two spacing options for 2 cards.

Any suggestions or advice?

Thanks. The Nofan is wonderful - I simply cannot praise it enough. Now, if only the Titan X could run at the lower clocks with three monitors attached...

Have you tried nV inspector and the Multi-monitor Power Saver?

Works for me on the 980ti.

Yes. It was a bit of a disaster - all three screens just crashed. There was just a solid colour and flickering. I tried it again just now and it took a reboot to recover.

Huh. Sorry for the poor option then. I wonder what the issue is for your setup.

Good luck! I now want a passive cooler to go with my FT02.

Like others said, EVGA has different lengths. Also, isnt there one that can be extended/retracted a tiny bit?

OP:

I have the bridge you need. Its called "2-way spaced". Here is my system with that bridge:

I recently watercooled my whole setup but the video card spacing remains the same.

That bridge wont work for him as he only has a single PCI slot between the two cards. I bought one and had to return it :(

I had the same issue when I built my 980 SLI setup last year, NV doesn't offer a single-spaced bridge yet. EVGA and MSI do, but neither look good on reference IMO. I'm still using a flexible one, luckily I can tuck it away with the ref. cooler.

To the person with high triple monitor idle clocks: I had this issue in win8.1 and after upgrading to win10, the clocks are more dynamic in 2D mode, they'll idle at min when they can instead of being fixed at 900mhz.
