Should I have them put the IHS back on or not?

I am wondering if I rather leave the IHS off like a laptop.

I kinda want to test the last 2 piece of Heat-Spring I have left on a desktop chip delidded. I wonder if I would have better temps without the IHS on it. Anyone have experience with them? How long does their liquid metal pasting last? Does it crap out after 6 months of high OCing? I plan on getting one of their 4.8 GHz chips.

If you delidding and using exotic TIM materials then plan on doing some thermal paste adjustments.

Delidding isn't for those that just want to use their system and go. Delidiing requires monitoring and occasional work to help CPU go fast and stay cool.

Silicon Lottery does it and reseals the IHS back on. You can request to leave the IHS off though and I am wondering If i want to just do die to block cooling like in a laptop.

Guys buying into a chip that is a good conductor for over clocking will still require good cooling. Don't be fooled into thinking that you will not need to monitor temps on a delidded chip to maintain good temps.

Thermal insulate material doesn't last. Eventually some new TIM will be needed to be applied.

That Is why I was thinking of getting rid of the IHS because HS never has to be reapplied because it is a sheet
