Hi, I am looking for a server(s) and I have these options. I need 2 servers, one for a NAS, another for a minecraft server that will have 1 spigot with a few plugins and 1 modded running at the same time. Max players 5 at one time.

Are any of these servers useful for any of the tasks above?

- Dell Poweredge 2800 (no HDD)

- Dell PowerEdge 1900
with Dual Xeon, 4gb RAM (no HDD)

- Dell PowerEdge 1950 Gen 3
with Dual Xeon 2.66Ghz, 8gb RAM (73gb HDD)

I have 2 SAS drives laying around, so that won't be a problem.
What are the recommended prices I should pay MAX for those servers?
The information above is the information I was given

Those are ancient - I wouldn't touch them... those 19xx's are going to be loud as well.
For cheap, but with somewhat decent hardware, I like R710s. Should be able to find ones with enough RAM easily enough on eBay and the likes... 12-16GB should be $300 or less, easily... maybe even under $200 if you're patient.

As previously stated those are older boxes. Of the three the 1950 is the only one to consider and then it had better be in 100-150 range. I would not take the others for free.

There were 2 1950's each 8gb ram, dual xeon for 150 or best offer

Do you have a budget or are you just looking at these because of the price? (Read that as super cheap. L

Look for a DL360 G5 or G6. G6's are a little pricier and you'll want to add more RAM and HDD's but you'll get solid performance.

This, even better if you get one with a P410 raid card.

I ordered 13 of HP DL160 G6 and they are very solid and quick and Im about to order another 10 to replace old ass P4 servers. :)

old, loud, hot and power hungry, avoid them, they are $150 for a reason.

What do you need a NAS for and how much storage do you need and how important will the data be on the NAS?

Need dual socket and at least 72GB of ram. 1U as well would be nice.

Currently I have 8 hyper-v running on each DL160G6, mix of L5520's and X5660's with P410 raid card 512mb cache + battery. x2 120gb SSD raid 1 for OS and x4 3TB raid 10 for the hyper-v

I could run more per box but I really don't want to, just in case I need to increase one of the VM's.

Hold on here, the servers listed above are not quite there yet specwise and the question was about the first post (C_N1's)
