6700K in stock (US)

I am looking at selling my X99 setup (5930K, Asus Rampage V, and 16GB ram) and I am asking 400 for the cpu and people are scoffing at me since its used. I said you can go ahead and pay 500 bucks for a 6700k and have 2 less cores.

Anyone have some suggestions on ram? Was looking for the Ripjaws V, but they don't have any 8GB dimms anywhere :(

PM'd ya

I just bought a 6700k just to try and get fellow hardforum members the chip. Not trying to make even a cent on the CPU. Does anyone need 1? Buyer pays paypal and shipping fees plus what I paid for the CPU which was $360 + 21 tax. Bought from MC and have receipt.

I just drove to Microcenter in Richardson, Texas two days ago. I called them and they had (3) i7-6700K's in stock. I arrived an hour later, they were gone (except for mine that I purchased).. $359 plus tax. I drove back home and said might as well buy the rest of my new rig parts online at Newegg (no tax.. yay). So, I picked up the Gigabyte Z170 Gaming 7 ATX mobo, Gskill DDR4 3000 (4x4gb kit), Windows 10 pro x64, (2) GTX 970 Zotac AMP! (triple fans) video cards for sli, Samsung EVO 850 1TB SSD and an EVGA 1K psu. I also picked up a 55" Sony 4K UHD X850C monitor (but got hit on Amazon for taxes).

Sounds like you went all in. Nice setup.

Already got one, but thumbs up for helping the community.

On the TV, you might have been able to get it from Frys without taxes. I know they had that deal whenever I looked at their ad this summer....not that that'll help you now ;)

So that 6700k I bought from Amazon on 9/15 still is "preparing for shipment" and says arriving 9/21 to 9/23. So annoying.

Assuming you don't have prime, this is SOP at Amazon. For the last few years, their unofficial policy is to sit on regular orders for a few days. To some degree this is because if they shipped it the day you ordered it, prime shipping wouldn't matter, because most people are 1-3 days from the shipping center via Ground.

That said, I ordered a case from them on Wednesday and I won't get it until Monday, and I have prime. No loss, sense Newegg is not a quick shipper (even with their premier shipping)

I do have prime actually. Amazon is SO overrated.

You should call them up (or write) and complain. That's way too long for something that was listed as in stock. Normally Prime is on time, but I've complained on [H] before that Amazon is basically charging us for slightly better service than they gave away for free a few years ago.

Yeah.. it started out simple enough. New processor. Of course, it's a socket change so I needed a new mobo. Then, I needed DDR4. My psu was aging plus I wanted a platinum rated power supply. After it was all said and done, I just threw in the towel and bought all new stuff.. haha. Darn you, new Intel platform. :)

I'm in the process of being done with Amazon. Right now I'm draining my gift card balance and then I'm out. I'm on Amazon's shit list for returning too many things, I got a "concerned" letter which comes right before they either ban you or they ban you from returns.

Amazon is the only company where I've experienced credit card (CC) fraud. After changing password, getting a new CC etc., I would delete credit card info after each order. But it didn't end there, got an email one day saying that my camera had been shipped and would arrive on such and such a date. On checking my account, I saw where someone (Joe Smoe for example) had used my account number and paid with someone else's (Jane Doe for example) CC.

I raised such a stink about it in so many forums that they closed my account which is exactly what I wanted them to do. Opened another account there but tread very carefully when doing business with Amazon. They have the worst CC security I've come across, absolutely nothing seems to raise flags with a transaction.

I've had MUCH better experience with Newegg Premier returns. I've returned multiple things and zero issues. Amazon basically threatened to come down on me for returning things that were still sealed.

Sorry to hear abour your CC fraud, I hadn't heard that but I'm honestly not surprised

Kinda the same here. Once I got the CPU and a Hero, I went searching for RAM. I wanted 2x8GB sticks (just in case), but no 3000 (or better) was available from G.Skill, but I found some slower ram with tighter timings for 129...then saw 32GB was only 60 more, so I got 32. Then I realized I should probably get the V series...so ordered that (and still got 32GB, because it was under 200) along with a Seasonic Gold + PSU...it's too big, but if efficiency at idle is really between 80 and 90% (I'm a bit skeptical) and it's quiet (as I expect), then it was a good buy for 85 bucks.

Needed a case so I ordered a Fractal R5
Finally I ordered a Thermalright True Spirt 140 (which sadly doesn't arrive until Wednesday). I'm sure there are better, but I just don't feel like spending 90 bucks on one.

A GPU can wait until I get a 5k monitor. And that can wait until I can 30" 5k monitors are available.

On the Egg v Amazon...I ordered from both and both took more than 24 hours to ship and both will take 3 or more days to arrive.

I just wanted to say that the the 6700k is available right now on newegg if you buy with a combo. Limit one per customer. I just purchased one with the gigabyte gaming 7 motherboard and free hsf. i hope this helps somebody out. act fast!

It would be great but their site is now borked. When I try to go to any desktop processor, they are not listed at all, only Xeons and nothing else.

just cancelled my amazon order from 9/15 that was still "in process" despite prime and ordered from newegg.

Well, I went to bing, did a search for newegg 6700k and found it. However, you cannot buy the processor except in a combo. I bought the 6700K, and Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Gaming 7 combo. I also bought 16GB of G Skill Ripjaws DDR 2400 Ram. This combination should last me at least 4 years or so with only a ram and video card upgrade along the way.

I bought that combo too, that's a great looking mobo

Given that they had stock less than a week ago, I think this is a sign that 6700k production is getting very close to meeting demand (assuming I'm correct that prior to last week, it'd been 2 weeks since Newegg had them in stock).

that happens to me with different items on the mobile app for android all the time. i know how you feel its quite frustrating. i know the other day when they had the combo deal i had just missed it and they completely pulled the page for the 6700k. you couldn't even auto notify when back in stock :(

Auto notify is pointless. I've done it 2 or 3 times for the 6700k and they never send a notification.

yeah there is some 3rd party sites that works, but the newegg auto notify I agree is useless

It usually easier to find the newegg link for the 6700k by googling it rather than looking for it on their site

It's in my history, so if I type newegg, it's one of the top URLS to come up (same with Amazon). I got to the point where I just checked daily around noon central. Seems like that's when they typically went live with the i7s (if they had any).

I should add that there's really no deal at the Egg. They charge 10-20 bucks over retail for the CPU and give you a discount of 10 bucks for the combo. It's lame, but I've been putting off upgrades for 2 years and I could wait no more :D

I just realized something, is my Noctua NH-D15 going to fit this 6700k socket or am I going to have to order an adapter? Thanks.

Assuming it (noctua) came with a 1150/1155 bracket, yeah it should fit.

Holy fuck I actually got one of these today, finally

Should be here Wed / Thurs

RIP Q6600.

I'm finally able to order the 6700K but now the motherboard I wanted with the combo, the Gigabyte Gaming 7, is out of stock. :D

it was in stock earlier today, I grabbed one. Buy another mobo and return it then by a G7 from somewhere else.

Good combo.. I bought my Gigabyte Gaming 7 from Newegg but actually picked up my 6700K from Microcenter. Keeping my fingers crossed for 4.6ghz - 4.7ghz.

If you are constantly missing the availability, I would highly recommend setting an alert using nowinstock.net. This is what helped me grab it the minute it became available. It can send SMS, email. or desktop alerts.
