If you are building an itty-bitty PC, this review of the SilverStone CS01B-HS mini-ITX case over at Benchmark Reviews will be of interest.

Two versions of the anodized black CS01B computer case exist, one with a mesh top and the option to install two 2.5″ and two 3.5″ drives. The second is the CS01B-HS, which removes the pair of 3.5″ drives in favor of six hot-swappable 2.5″ bays. Also included in both models is a single 120mm air penetrator fan, one expansion slot, and a sturdy aluminum construction throughout. SilverStone is not intending this to be used for gaming, but rather for an office environment.

Just built myself an HTPC using a Silverstone SG13. Excellent case for HTPC, hits all the right points: cheap, small, looks good.

way better option, the external hot swaps on the reviewed case would be awesome if they were 3.5s, but epic fail instead.

Might be a good case to show of the Nano, just saying.

With all those hot swap drives I would think this was a good choice for a small NAS, but sadly they only support 2.5inch drives how idiotic.

The review would have been 10 times better if they bothered to install components in it and show what you could do rather then just tell you about an empty case.

Yeah I was flipping through hoping to get a visual on some fitment ideas, wondering if the review was unfinished or something. :/

case external reminds me too much of the older macs

DS380B seems to be better in every way except for size
(but the nas = 8, 3.5 or 2.5)

Did they actually have a case to review? Those photos look suspiciously generic.

And only a 120mm AP fan; not one of their 180mm AP fans?

They already have the DS380 for 8x 3.5" drives, along with an upcoming mATX variant of the TJ08 called the CS-380, if you want something bigger.

Yeah I agree with you, and the DS380 is great, but I am baffled by the hotswap 2.5s, why even offer that and not even an options for one 3.5 internal or hotswap?

The CS01-HS is just one variation of two cases. The other is simply named the CS01. The CS01 has 2x 3.5" and 2x 2.5" internal hotswap.

Personally I think the CS01 is an inefficient use of the design and largely pointless with the DS380 providing a superiour solution. The CS01-HS may currently serve a niche purpose as a SSD NAS, but I see it's functionality becoming more useful over time as SSDs continue to increase in capacity and decrease in cost.
