GTX 980 VRAM Question

My GTX 980 has 4 gig of ram but, when running Final Fantasy ARR benchmark it only shows 3 gig, is there a reason why? I checked GPU Z and it read 4 gig.
 
Are you sure the benchmark isn't showing VRAM in use? Look at the VRAM usage graph in the sensors tab of GPU-Z to see if it matches. What a game says it's using is not always accurate.
