hey! anybody here went from a high resolution to a lower resolution monitor before?

i like higher resolutions monitors. BUT the higher you go the more money you got to have. so i was thinking on giving up my 2560x1440 monitor and going to a 1080p or 1200p monitors (with higher gamut of course). has any of you guys done that? do you regret it? and any monitor recommendations? (nec or eizo for example?)

Why do you want a higher gamut monitor exactly? Are you a graphics pro who needs that extra gamut?
 
Are you talking about gaming when you say the more money you need to have? As in you need more money to get desirable frame rates? If we're not talking gaming then I would definitely not want to go back to 1080p from 1440p. I used to bounce back and fourth between a 1440p 60Hz monitor and a 1080p 144Hz monitor and that was purely for gaming reasons only.
 
I just sold my 4K 40-inch. I am waiting for a 50-55 curved version, currently on a 720p 19 inch TV. The horror, oh god. This is pain.

lol, thats quite extreme.1/8 of the screen estate.

As pointed out, wider gamut is only useful if the media you use needs it.
 
Went from several of LG's ultra wides and a 40" 4k to 1080p.

Refresh rate means more to me than pixels these days.
