Golden Joystick Award: Bioshock Infinite for $1

Took me like 20 minutes to get everything done , but 1$ is a good price for this game. ALL Games should be 1$
 
I've done the Golden Joystick thing for the last few years now, and honestly I've only gotten the promised key ONCE from it. I'll be damned if I'm going to give them any money for this crapfest.
 
I don't remember if I already bought Bioshock Infinite. It's a bad case of Steamnesia. :(
 
This activates in steam right? The way they worded it seems like you end up getting the game for free?

Yes, you get a Steam key through GMG. No, the game isn't free - it still costs $1. A promo code gets sent to you in an email from GMG, you apply that code at checkout which gives you 95% off for BioShock Infinite.

Technically it is free. You play the game and get $1 credit for GMG.

Step 4:
Play Bioshock Infinite and earn $1 GMG credit back!
 
I saw this on SlickDeals last night. It took about 10 min. to fill out the survey and go through the confirmation e-mails. I remember last year it was free and we got Civ. 5. This year, it's a buck and you get Bio. Inf., which I don't own, but it seems to have the highest ratings and reviews I've ever seen on Steam. :eek:

It literally took all night to download the 17.3+ GB game on my slow-ass DSL. :eek: Now it's in my backlog of unplayed Steam games. :D

Maybe next year, we'll get GTA 5 for $2? A boy can dream. :p
 
The GMG page for claiming the reward refuses to let me login with my account. Not sure why. I reset my password and everything, no joy.
 
Just received my code after paying $1 with Paypal. Took a total of 15 minutes.
 
By the way this vote contains spoilers for Arkham Knight :eek: (although I already kind of thought it was likely going there anyways)

If I remember correctly the issue is likely that all the accounts and information used need to be the same (GMG account, playfire account, golden joystick).

Was able to go through all the hoops and got it for a dollar, but despite playing it for 10 minutes I haven't been able to get the dollar credit at GMG. Not too bummed because, hey, I'd pay a dollar for it, might even play it for real one of these days if I reach it in my backlog. lol

Side note, I apparently had 2 dollars GMG credit already, but the credit isn't applicable to items you try to purchase with a voucher code. That extra dollar would have probably just joined the other two to rot.

If the email address don't match up across the board you probably will vote for nothing.
 
Got mine. Smooth. Took about 15 mins. Already downloaded in my steam folder.
 
Still have yet to receive my e-mail, everything lined up, e-mails match, checked spam, nothing. 20 hrs down.
 
Took about ten minutes for the email to show up but everything went through no issue.

site wont let me log in, when I say lost password it says my email is not in system. When I goto register it says email is all ready used. LOL
 
Worked just fine, the whole process was a little buggy though.

It took me forever to get through this. I tried to log in and it kept kicking me out like it did with HemiRick. The wording was the same that he got. Finally I got them to change my password. Then when I tried paying, 4 times, it kept refusing to take my Visa. Then I tried Paypal and it rejected that. So I re-entered and tried charging to Paypal again. This time it took. After it was all through I checked my online Visa account and they had charged and removed four entries of $20 (canceling it to a balance of $0) A lot of stress for a $1 charge. Whew! This game better be worth it.

I very enjoyable game, especially if you enjoy the art design. One of the first games where I actually cared about the characters and their well being.
