Anyone picking this up tonight/tomorrow? Thinking about picking it up but would like some people to play multiplayer with.

Try playing Gears of War: Ultimate Edition on a 4k 75in TV sitting 4 feet away. It will give you a headache, really really fast. There's just too much jumping and bouncing. I hope it's adjusted in a future update.
I didn't know it was already coming out. Thanks for the heads up. I may get on tonight to play some coop. Gamertag is ArmeniusLOD.
Any word on a release date for the PC version? It's probably going to be a Windows 10 exclusive, isn't it...

Because the original uses the now-defunct Games for Windows Live, and finding a copy of the original these days is going to run you $40-$80 anyway. It's already been released for PC. What would be the point of re-releasing it? Can almost assure it'd look the same.

Or - Don't sit 4 feet away from a 75 inch screen?
You have an extremely unusual use case that most people would not recommend. Also A 4k TV isn't going to help your experience in this case. Your TV might actually be making your experience worse because of input lag caused by the extra image processing.
Gears of War: Ultimate Edition is brilliant. Don't get the Deluxe version. It's crap. $20 for extra skins.
The only problem is the Gears of War game is not "adjusted" for today's technology. Back in the day the biggest TV was maybe 45in. Nobody buys a 75" TV and then sits 4 feet away (unless you are retarded) from it unless he's got such a small living room or whatever that he has no choice but to sit real close. This sounds more like look at me trying to show off attention.

I had someone else play the game on my other Xbox one downstairs in our main room: 52in 1080p display sitting 6+ ft away. Same issue. Headaches after 5 minutes of playing. Only game to experience this on.
It's not nice to call people names. That kind of thing can get you banned. You've been here long enough to know better. You aren't 13 years old.
It's just where I like sitting. I've posted pics of my setup. Pretty confident my arrangements are a little larger than typical. If it makes you and others feel better to think i'm bragging then go right ahead. Jealousy rears many different heads.

I concur. It may be the combination of a low-contrast color palette and motion blur.Gears of War is just one of those games that will give you a headache. Bioshock (the first one, not sure about the others) and Borderlands are others. I've watched my son play Gears for a few minutes and then had to go lie down.
The thing is, the AI in the game is actually really well done in my opinion. I think that the ramp up in AI aggressiveness and "intelligence" on the harder difficulties is enough that altering the health amounts should not have been necessary. It's all the more frustrating with the loose aiming that it takes a full unboosted Lancer clip to kill a drone on Insane with body shots.Gears of War difficulty has always been broken as fuck. The game is balanced around Normal difficulty. There was a bit in Gears 3 where you are ziplining into an area with a Gunker which requires a lot of retries to avoid getting hit as soon as you hit the ground with a OHK on Insane difficulty. Aside from that, it follows the give-enemies-huge-HP-bars school of higher difficulty modes.
Same. I immediately noticed it when I started playing the Campaign and nearly vomited. I can only play the game for 15-20 minutes at a time because of the eye strain... It makes me worried about the statement that the framerate will be unlocked on the PC version. The 30fps for the campaign when all of the pre-release press crowed about 60fps pisses me off.

Maybe the number of enemies on screen? It also looks like ambient occlusion is being used in the campaign and may be too much for the console to handle. There are no hiccups during gameplay, thankfully. But I could not say with certainty. The multiplayer runs at 60 FPS.wait this old ass remake from 2006 is locked at 30fps? No wonder people are getting motion sickness, I know the xbone is massively under powered but if they managed to pull off Forza at 60fps then whats the excuse for this?

Yes, the whole campaign is designed around 2-player co-op. I'd like to get the co-op achievements, but I probably won't be able to get on tonight. Possibly tomorrow afternoon.Got this game today. Add me on XBL if you would like to do co op. I am assuming there is co op in the campaign?
So excited.
