10 Reasons You Shouldn't Upgrade To Windows 10

Moved from 7 to 10 and it's much faster, a bit nicer looking.. which is good enough for me.

As far as them spying on my gay porn habits... oops, guess it's no secret now. Damn. Seriously, what are you guys doing that you're so afraid people will see?

JARED FOGLE IS THAT YOU?!

Microsoft has been doing this since computers connected to the internet for updates.

Updates in, "anonymous" usage data out. Metadata and microcode.

Oh, and thank you Steve for giving us the heads up on the slide show format. The one best reason for not even bothering to view that site. Slide shows = laziness or worse, shoving more ads in your face and Google data mining. :D

which is funny as the author actually bitches that you can't use ad block and have to few all the ads that sites put out there.... which his site does, so in reality he is bitching about people like himself.

I installed Windows 10 on my new build last night and the step where it asks about logging all of this information was one of the oddest experiences in recent memory.

Default settings on the Windows 10 install have keystroke logging, browsing history, location data, and the permission to send info to '3rd party advertisers' all lumped in the same settings screen. This is enough to make me question what Microsoft is doing even if I have nothing to hide. After turning off these settings and seeing the wording Microsoft used I was left with the feeling of 'really Microsoft?'. I turned off the settings once during install, then the computer rebooted and it went back to the same privacy screen again and back to the default settings. Really...? I turned it all off again and was finally able to use Windows 10, yay!

Part of this odd feeling might have been the fact that I was doing it at 2AM, but I feel still weird about it today because it literally said they would record keystrokes, browsing history, and location. Anyone else remember the installation step I'm referring to? If they are still recording that and there's reports of Microsoft collecting the information anyways regardless of the fact that I've turned it off, then it's just shady business practices, no way around that.

Direct X 12 is a reason right?
Only if your use of computers is for gaming and not for activities that are essential to actually earn a living, if you really use the computer as a tool to gain money I would stay with W7. :D

Start menu search feature sends keystrokes and displays web results since Windows 8.

That's how I feel. I hated Windows 8.1 with every fiber of my being. Windows 10 has been a huge improvement for me.

I'm always glad when others in the IT field agree with me on that.

I've gotta support 8.1 machines at work. The only reason we even have 8.1 machines is because they're touchscreen laptops (Asus TP300LA) otherwise we'd be a completely Win7 house. I've been issued (temporarily) an Asus X205TA that came pre-loaded with 8.1 on it... God, I wanna smash my head against a wall. LOL

I do thoroughly enjoy Win10 at home, though.

Better yet, just stick with Windows 98! or 3.1!

I'll sum up what I got out of this article. The author is saying he's an old and out of touch man who is scared of things he doesn't understand while simultaneously not realizing that just by surfing the internet hundreds of companies are tracking his every move and harvesting much more data that Microsoft is or legally can. Not only that, but he's paid to write articles that will scare other old and out of touch people. What a menace!

Theres only so much you can say to the foolish.
They go ahead regardless.
Enjoy :p

Its friggen good, much faster than 7,8,8.1 or my GF to a bottle of vodka. Once you lock it down, get rid of the greasy hipster app shit its damm good,
